  • Patent number: 8894327
Abstract: A method is disclosed for reeling or unreeling a pipeline having an inner corrosion-resistant metallic liner that is tightly fitted within the pipeline. To minimize or avoid wrinkling of the liner during the reeling or unreeling, a length of the pipeline is internally pressurized in a two-stage pressurizing process, and then the length of pipeline is reeled or unreeled, as the case may be. In the first stage of the pressurizing process, the length of the pipeline is filled with fluid at an elevated pressure, and in the second stage the fluid pressure is raised to a higher pressure, which may be 25 bars or more, absolute.

    Assignee: Subsea 7 Limited
Inventors: John Arthur Mair, Thomas Schüller, Gernold Holler, Friedrich Henneicke, Joachim Banse
  • Patent number: 8876433
Abstract: A method is disclosed for reeling a pipeline having an inner corrosion-resistant metallic liner that is tightly fitted within the pipeline. To minimize or avoid wrinkling of the liner during the reeling or unreeling, a length of the pipeline is internally pressurized by deploying a single sealing pig within the pipeline near to the trailing end of the pipeline and applying pressurized fluid within the pipeline, and then the length of pipeline is reeled onto a storage reel. In the pressurizing process, the length of the pipeline is filled with fluid at an elevated pressure within a range defined by a lower limit of 5 bar.

  • Publication number: 20110041934
Abstract: The invention relates to a delivery pipeline system of several pipeline sections (1) comprising an inner pipe (11) and an outer pipe (10), an insulating material (30) being arranged in an annular space (3) between the inner pipe (11) and the outer pipe (10) and the pipeline sections (1) being connected to each other by means of a pipe connector (2). The ends of the inner and outer pipes (11, 10) have threads (110, 100) which are configured at the pipe connector (2) to correspond to receiving threads (21, 20). The pipe connector (2) comprises tubular receiving devices (210, 200) which are arranged concentrically to one another. The invention further relates to a corresponding delivery pipe (1) and a pipe connector (2).

  • Publication number: 20110025050
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection system for double-walled pipes (1, 2) comprising an inner pipe (12, 22) made of a stainless steel and an outer pipe (11, 21) which surrounds the inner pipe (12, 22) and has a greater tensile strength than the inner pipe (12, 22), wherein threads (13, 23) are formed at the ends of the outer pipe (11, 21), and also comprising a screw-type sleeve (3) with internal threads (31, 32) which correspond in terms of design to the external threads (13, 23), and comprising a sealing ring (4) which is arranged in the sleeve (3), is formed from a stainless material and, in the screwed-on state, seals the sleeve (3) with respect to the medium transported through the inner pipe (12, 22).
