  • Patent number: 5227012
Abstract: In multi-layer thin film circuits, fabricated by alternate formation of conductor layers and insulating layers, there can be integrated thin film resistors which bear directly upon the substrate but nonetheless are not subjected, during manufacture, to the high temperatures of curing of the insulating layers and which then would be damaged. The manufacturing method also allows producing integrated electrical contacting between the thin film resistors and conductors of all of the conductor layers.

  • Patent number: 4349765
Abstract: A device for generating high intensity ultraviolet radiation thermoemissively in a discharge tube filled with a mercury vapor and at least one rare gas, the discharge tube having two ends joined to two tubular envelopes housing anode and cathode electrodes, wherein the rare gas is either argon, krypton or xenon maintained at an operating pressure of between 0.01 and 0.5 Torr, and the discharge tube and the tubular envelopes consist of doped quartz glass doped such that radiation lines at 185 and 194 mm are almost completely absorbed and a radiation line at 254 nm is transmitted almost without loss, and wherein is provided on the discharge tube an appendix-like piece of tube, which is to receive condensed mercury and the temperature of which is adjustable between 48.degree. and 65.degree. • Patent number: 4084217
Abstract: An A.C. voltage fed power supply for D.C. gas-discharge lamps is disclosed having full-wave rectifying means connected on the A.C. side to at least two phase-adjusting networks for forming mutually phase-shifted partial currents and connected together on the D.C. side to superimpose the rectified, phase-shifted partial currents. Each phase-adjusting network is connected through the full-wave rectifying means to the same load impedance at the two D.C. voltage output terminals.

  • Patent number: 4000431
Abstract: A device for producing ultraviolet radiation of high spectral radiation intensity is disclosed in which the radiation is generated in a mercury-argon-filled discharge tube with a thermoemissive cathode by a wall-stabilized d.c. gas discharge at a mercury pressure p.sub.Hg between 5 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.3 and 5 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.1 torr, an argon pressure p.sub.Ar between 0.01 and 10 torr and a current density j.sub.o of the discharge current I between 1 and 25 A/cm.sup.

  • Patent number: 3971968
Abstract: Apparatus for generating ultraviolet radiation of high spectral radiance whereby the radiation is produced in a discharge tube having a thermoemissive cathode and a discharge space and filled with mercury/argon by means of a wall-stabilized direct-current gas discharge at a mercury pressure p.sub.Hg of between 5 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.3 and 5 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.1 Torr and a current density j of the discharge current I of between 1 and 25 A/cm.sup.2. The discharge tube incorporates a pressure-equalizing space connecting the cathode space to the anode space whereby the sum of the volumes of the cathode space, anode space and pressure-equalizing space is greater than the volume of the discharge space. The pressure of the argon is maintained between 0.01 and 10 Torr. A first control element is provided which regulates the current density j of the discharge current I to a constant value j.sub.O between 1 and 25 A/cm.sup.2. A second control element is provided which regulates the pressure p.sub.

  • Patent number: 3936734
Abstract: A method for contactless measurement of conductivity and/or temperature on metals by means of the eddy current effect induced within the metal by an alternating magnetic field produced by an excitation coil fed with alternating current arranged with its axis perpendicular to the surface of the metallic test specimen, there being in addition to the excitation coil a pair of measuring coils of equal radius arranged coaxially and symmetrically with respect to the excitation coil at each end respectively of the excitation coil and having an axial length substantially less than that of the excitation coil. The two measuring coils are connected electrically in series opposition and the phase angle between the current in the measuring coils and the current in the excitation coil is taken as an indication of the measured variable.
