  • Publication number: 20070091810
Abstract: A method and terminal apparatus for transmitting a status report comprising a received status of packet data in a mobile communication system are provided, in which whether transmission of an implicit Negative Acknowledge (NACK) signal is required for requesting retransmission of at least one non-received data packet whose sequence number is unidentified is determined, if transmission of the implicit NACK signal is required, the implicit NACK signal including a sequence number of the last packet is generated among successfully received data packets, and a status report including the implicit NACK signal is transmitted to the transmitter, and if transmission of the implicit NACK signal is not required, a status report is transmitted to the transmitter including at least one of an ACK signal comprising a sequence number of a successfully received data packet and an explicit NACK signal comprising a sequence number of a non-received data packet whose sequence number is identified.

  • Publication number: 20070086422
Abstract: A retransmission method and apparatus performed in a transmitter of a mobile communication system supporting a Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest (HARQ) operation and an Automatic Retransmission request (ARQ) operation for retransmission of a packet are provided. At least one ARQ entity generates at least one ARQ packet, and an HARQ entity transmits an HARQ packet including the at least one ARQ packet to a receiver, and transmits a local NACK signal indicating transmission fail of the ARQ packet to a corresponding ARQ entity, if the HARQ packet fails in transmission.

  • Publication number: 20060251079
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting packet data over an uplink channel in a mobile communication system in which retransmission of a packet is possible using a hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) technique. A base station receives a packet data unit (PDU) from a terminal and determines whether the base station can calculate a retransmission number (RSN) indicating the number of retransmissions for the PDU. If the base station cannot calculate the RSN for the PDU, the base station sets the RSN to a special value indicating that the number of retransmissions for the PDU is unknown, and transmits the set RSN to a serving radio network controller (SRNC) along with the PDU.

  • Publication number: 20060183502
Abstract: A method of informing a selected CN operator from a UE to a RAN in an NS system where a plurality of CN operators shares the RAN is provided. Upon request of transmission of an IDT, the UE acquires a CN operator ID selected from a multi-ID list broadcasted from a cell in which an RRC connection has been established, and transmits an IDT message with the selected CN operator ID to the RAN. Upon receipt of the IDT message, the RAN determines whether the IDT message includes a selected CN operator ID. In the presence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN stores the selected CN operator ID in a UE context. In the absence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN reads a stored selected CN operator ID from the UE context. The RAN then selects a CN operator using the selected CN operator ID.

  • Publication number: 20060172741
Abstract: A method and system for relocating a SRNC in a RAN in an NS system where the RAN is shared among a plurality of CN operators are provided. If an SRNC relocation from a source RNC to a target RNC is determined for a UE, the source RNC requests to the target RNC a PLMN list with the PLMN ids of CN operators sharing the target RNC, and receives the PLMN list from the target RNC, and provides the PLMN ID list to the UE. Upon receipt of a selected PLMN id from the UE, the source SRNC performs the SRNC relocation by selecting a CN operator corresponding to the selected PLMN id.

  • Publication number: 20060140154
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the scheduling performance of a system supporting an uplink data service and total system stability by effectively UE status information to a Node B in a mobile communication system supporting the uplink data service are provided. UE status information including buffer occupancy information and transmit power status information is transmitted to a Node B periodically or upon generation of an event, irrespective of the presence or absence of uplink data to be transmitted. Since the buffer occupancy information and the transmit power status information are transmitted to the Node B by MAC-e signaling, physical channel resources are saved and E-DCH performance is improved.

  • Publication number: 20060114877
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an uplink data rate, without increasing downlink signaling overhead, in a mobile communication system that supports an uplink packet data service. A Node B transmits an Absolute grants (AG) using one of first and second IDs to a User Equipment (UE). Upon receipt of an AG with the first UE-ID, the UE transmits uplink data within an allowed maximum data rate indicated by the AG and receives a Relative Rrant (RG) in the next Transmission Time Interval (TTI). Upon receipt of an AG with the second UE-ID, the UE does not receive an RG.
