Abstract: A pressing device (1, 111), in particular for joining a pipe (23) with a press fitting (24), has at least two pressing jaws (17, 18, 21, 22, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126) and a drive (7) for moving the pressing jaws (17, 18, 21, 22, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126) or a part thereof relative to one another from an open position into a final pressed position, such that at least one sensor (36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 51, 151, 152) for sensing the final pressed position of the pressing jaws (17, 18, 21, 22, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126) is arranged in the region of the pressing jaws (17, 18, 21, 22, 122, 126), and such that an indicating device (43), which generates an externally perceptible indicating signal when the final pressed position is or is not reached, is associated with the sensor (36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 51, 151, 152).

Abstract: A measurement apparatus is disclosed for a pipe joint assembly (27, 63, 92, 103, 116) to detect the depth of penetration of a pipe end into a press fitting. The measurement apparatus is characterized in that it has an apparatus support (1, 42, 82, 102) that may be set on the outer side of the pipe joint assembly (27, 63, 92, 103, 116), a thickness sensor (23, 24, 74, 75, 90, 113) mounted thereon to detect the thickness of material in the pipe joint assembly (27, 63, 92, 103, 116), and an evaluation device to provide at least a qualitative indication of the detected thickness of material.

Abstract: A friction clutch assembly, for a press and especially a screw press, includes: a pair of rotating, coaxial, annular, spaced drive members, at least one of which is axially movable toward and away from the other; an off-drive shaft disposed coaxially with the drive members; a spring plate centrally clamped to the off-drive shaft and extending radially on both sides of the shaft to terminate in outer segments, carrying friction coatings, disposed in the space between the drive members, so that, upon movement of one of the drive members toward the other to actuate, or close, the clutch, the friction coatings are clamped between the drive members, elastically deforming the spring plate to adjust to the reduced spacing and to transmit the requisite high torque through the spring plate required to turn the off-drive shaft.
