  • Patent number: 4887915
Abstract: A one-piece metal mounting device for an adjustable or eccentric bearing of a precision slide system has a spigot forming a journal for the bearing and lateral extensions one of which has an elongate through bore for receiving a hexagon headed adjusting bush and the other has a cylindrical through bore for receiving a screw. The bush also receives a screw, both of which pass into blind threaded holes of a machine bed of the slide system. The device is mounted on the bed and adjusted in a plane parallel to the plane of the bed by adjustment of the bush.

  • Patent number: 4854739
Abstract: A seal device has a generally cylindrical body forming a seating for a bearing and encloses that bearing, there being a rectangular front part which bears an orifice of shape in the embodiment of V-shape in transverse cross-section to receive a complementary edge of a member supported by the bearing so that the bearing and member can co-operate while the seal device seals the bearing against entrance of dirt, debris etc., and lubricates it as it is packed with lubricant, there being lubricant-charged felt pads in housings which wipe the member in use.

  • Patent number: 4815863
Abstract: A journal for a bearing of a precision slide system comprising a support having a blind bore with connecting means in the form of a screw or bolt adapted to secure the support in the journal having a head of complementary shape to a rebate of the journal, and means to bind the journal and screw or bolt together. The blind bore has a rebate therein and the screw or bolt is adapted to be accommodated in the rebate and adapted to connect the bearing and support whereby there is a substantially flush surface across the support and connecting means. The bore has a female thread and the rebate has a frusto-conical shape, and is carried by a ball race of the journal, which ball race is mounted on a second one (FIG. 1), which in turn rests on a nut, the support passing through the nut to be secured to a base or machine plate (FIG. 5). The bearing is formed of two vertically (as shown) mounted wheels which form a 70.degree. V-groove for receiving the edge of a slide of the system.
