Abstract: A mobile terminal capable of receiving mobile broadcast services and a channel control method for the same are provided. The channel control method includes outputting broadcast data present in a frame received on a current channel during a frame transport interval, scanning, during a sleep interval after the frame transport interval, for at least one frequency corresponding to a preset preference channel, extracting channel information by parsing a frame carried by the scanned frequency, and storing the extracted channel information while updating existing channel information. Hence, the channel search time experienced by the user for viewing channel information may be shortened.

Abstract: Disclosed is a satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) receiving apparatus and method for tracking the position of a satellite and displaying the satellite's position on a terminal. Additionally, in the presence of an obstacle, notifying a user of a reception impossible state caused by the obstacle, in order to enable the user to efficiently receive a satellite signal. The terminal for receiving digital broadcasting included a receiver for receiving a digital broadcasting signal, a geo-magnetic sensor for determining the position of the terminal, a controller for generating broadcasting reception state information using the azimuth of a satellite and the position of the terminal, and a display for displaying the broadcasting reception state information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a device for receiving broadcasting service in a digital multimedia broadcasting system which provides the broadcasting service through a first radio path and a second radio path, in which the first radio path allows only digital multimedia broadcasting service to be received therethrough and the second radio path allows the digital multimedia broadcasting service and mobile communication service to be received therethrough, the method including updating information about a received signal input through the radio paths, determining whether the second radio path is switched on, determining a reason when the second radio path is switched off why it is switched off; comparing the information about the received signal with corresponding predetermined threshold values depending on a result of the determination of why the second radio path is switched off; and resetting the second radio path as ‘off’.

A mobile communication terminal capable of receiving a digital broadcast, a terminal dedicated to receiving a digital broadcast, and methods thereof automatically update EPG data and provide digital broadcasting program information based on the information. The mobile communication terminal capable of receiving the digital broadcast and the terminal dedicated to receiving the digital broadcast can provide diverse services including broadcast reservation and advertisement using channel information included in the EPG data.
