Abstract: The present invention relates to a water purifier for removing noxious pollutant substances contained in fresh water, such as tap water, to purify the water, and more particularly to a water discharging control device for a water purifier, that is capable of correctly determining an appropriate time for completing a water discharging operation on the basis of a residual amount of contaminated water remaining in a water tank, thereby correctly performing the water discharging operation for, for example, purified water which has been stored in the water tank for a long time.

Abstract: A water purifier filters and stores tap water in heated and cooled tanks and selectively discharges heated or cooled water through respective dispensing pipes. If the water in the purifier is suspected of being contaminated, an electrically actuated water discharge valve is opened by means of an electric switch to drain all water from the purifier through a discharge pipe. When the switch is first manipulated, a water discharge lamp on a display flashes on and off, and a predetermined time period, e.g., three seconds, is initiated. If the user manipulates the switch a second time before the three second expires, the lamp stays on, and the water discharge valve is opened to drain all water. If the user manipulates the switch a third time, subsequent to the three-second period and before the water has been entirely drained, the water discharge valve closes.

Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for displaying the purifying efficiency of a water purifier. The apparatus is adapted to compare the quality of supplied water with that of purified water and then display the result. The apparatus comprises a supply water quality sensing element for sensing an amount of pollutant substances contained in the supplied fresh water and produced water quality sensing element for sensing an amount of pollutant substances contained in purified water that has passed though filters in the purifier. An amplifying unit is included for amplifying weak signals sensed by the sensors. A subtractor receives the signals obtained from the amplifying unit and derives a difference between the amplified signals. A divider is supplied for dividing the output signal from the subtractor by the sensed and amplified signal from the supply water quality sensing element, and an adjusting unit is provided for adjusting erroneous values to obtain the correct results of the subtractor and divider.

Abstract: A water purifier includes filters for purifying water, hot and cold water tanks for storing hot and cold water, and heating and cooling mechanisms for heating and cooling the stored water. A key input pad enables a user to select desired hot and cold water temperatures. A data backup device includes a memory for storing the selected hot and cold water temperatures, and for immediately storing any changes in the selected temperatures.
