Abstract: A process for producing viscose wherein the caustic soda used previously in the alkalization of electron-untreated cellulose can be used in the alkalization of electron-treated cellulosic material, provided the level of dispersed solids in the caustic soda does not exceed 0.16 g/l.

Abstract: In gear pumps having an automatic lubricator, channels are provided for the delivery to and the discharge from the pump bearings, of lubricant, which consists of and is withdrawn from the medium to be conveyed. The conveying means for conveying the lubricant through the channels are mounted in the shafts of the gear pump. The channels can connect the suction side or the delivery side or the suction and delivery sides of the pump to the pump bearing.

Abstract: A crimped fiber tow for stuffing purposes containing an ionic antistatic agent, at least one conditioning agent consisting essentially of a methyl hydrogeno polysiloxane, an alpha, omega hydroxy dimethyl polysiloxane, an emulsifier for the polysiloxanes, an Sn (II) salt of a fatty acid and high molecular weight polyethylene. The stuffing fibers are distinguished by the same soft and smooth feel as known from downs; they are more over easily displaceable one against the other and resume their bulkiness by being shaken up. The fiber tow and the fiber are therefore excellently suitable for stuffing cushions, quilts and upholstery goods.
