Abstract: Example downhole marking apparatus and methods to use the same are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus includes a coring tool assembly for use in extracting a core sample from a subterranean formation adjacent a borehole; a sample container retainer operatively coupled to the coring tool assembly, wherein the sample container retainer is configured to hold a sample container configured to receive the core sample; and a scriber operatively coupled to the sample container retainer and configured to mark a surface of the sample container.
