  • Patent number: 8852252
Abstract: Endosseous screw (1) for fixing a plate (102) to a bone site (300), comprising an at least partially threaded shaft (2), insertion means for inserting the screw into a bone site and a distal portion (33) provided for engaging said plate to fasten it to said bone site and comprising a head (3) having facets (30) defining an external peripheral profile provided for engagement with a tubular manipulating wrench, to allow the screw (1) to be extracted from the bone site (300) into which it has been inserted, wherein the facets (30) are curvilinear and the external peripheral profile defined by same facets (30) has a convex barrel-like shape, in order to allow a stable coupling between the tubular manipulating wrench and said profile, which is maintained during the untightening phase of screw from plate, even when said tubular manipulating wrench is oriented in an inclined direction with respect to a longitudinal axis (x) of the endosseous screw (1).

  • Patent number: 8162942
    Abstract: An intramedullary nail (10, 110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610) suitable for insertion in a fractured elongate bone (12), of the type comprising a stem (14, 114, 214, 314, 414, 514, 614) extended between a proximal end (16, 116, 216, 416, 516, 616) and a distal end (18, 118, 218, 418, 518, 618). The nail comprises a plurality of elements (20, 120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620) realized with at least one shape-memory material, a plurality of seats (19, 119, 219, 319, 419, 519, 619) formed in the stem (14, 114, 214, 314, 414, 514, 614) for housing the elements (20, 120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620). The elements (20, 120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620) are suitable to take a first shape wherein they are retractably housed in the respective seats (19, 119, 219, 319, 419, 519, 619) and a second shape wherein they project from the respective seats (19, 119, 219, 319, 419, 519, 619).

  • Patent number: 4866539
Abstract: A computerized composing system includes a color transfer unit for selectively coloring portions of the printed output. Initially the operator places an original piece of artwork on an optical scanning digitizer. The digitized image is stored in a computer and displayed on a monitor screen or may be created, on screen, by the operator employing various features of the system software. Letters and numbers are then added to the display screen through a computer keyboard. A mouse or the keyboard can be used to edit the graphic and alphanumeric information on the composition until it is satisfactory to the operator. Therefore, what the operator see on the screen is what the operator gets as a printed result. The composition is then transmitted to a laser printer. A color transfer unit integrated into the printer permits color to be transferred to the toner on the paper stock. A solenoid activated roller forces a web of transfer foil against the printed stock.
