  • Patent number: 6765473
Abstract: An access system (2) including an electronic key (4) provided with a transmitter (6) and including a secured location provided with a receiver (10), the transmitter (6) and the receiver (10) being designed to communicate with one another to exchange authentication data. The transmitter (6) transmits a signal; the receiver (10) converts the transmitted signal into spectral data; and, in response to transmission of the authentication data, the access system (2) grants access to the secured location, provided the spectral data matches the spectral signature of transmitter (6).

  • Publication number: 20040137877
Abstract: A security system (4, 8), including an electronic key (4) having a transmitter (6) and a secure object having a base station (8) which has a receiver (10) is described, the transmitter (6) and the receiver (10) being designed so that they communicate to exchange authentication data, the key (4) transmitting the data in a message which includes parts having predetermined periods (T0, . . . , T4) having transmission signal variations; and the base station (8) detecting distortion in the transmission signal variations due to a relay station.

  • Patent number: 6522028
Abstract: A device for locking and unlocking a door of an object, particularly of a motor vehicle, includes a transmitter unit disposed on the object and a transponder assigned to a user. Safety is increased because, in response to alignment of the transmission lobe with the interior of the object, the range of the field of the transmission lobe formed by the transmitter unit or of the signals emmitted by the transponder can be reduced or disturbed by a switching device, so that a transponder located in the passenger area of the interior cannot be queried.

  • Patent number: 6429782
Abstract: A detection system includes a switch device having a conductor forming part of a capacitor with variable capacitance dependent upon proximity of a person, and a detector for sensing variation in the capacitance and for generating an output signal indicating the proximity of the person relative to the conductor. The switch device further includes a retaining body adapted to mount the conductor to a door handle, the retaining body also having a mechanical switch arranged for actuation by a person gripping the handle to additionally or alternatively indicate the proximity of the person.

  • Patent number: 6354120
Abstract: A lock system for a vehicle, including an authentication module for receiving authentication code transmitted from a remote electronic key and for generating an authentication signal, and an ignition lock assembly having an ignition switch unit, a part movable between at least first and second positions to activate the ignition switch unit, an electronic lock module responsive to the authentication signal for generating a lock release signal, and a lock mechanism which inhibits use of the vehicle and in response to the lock release signal enables use of the vehicle.
