    Abstract: An expansion joint bridging device is provided in the form of a plate-type roadway joint which bridges an expansion joint between two building components. The expansion joint is spanned by crossbeams which are braced in a load-bearing relationship on both building components. Supported on the crossbeams is at least one plate disposed above the crossbeams, the plate having two plate portions which lie flush with one another and are interconnected in a force-transmitting relationship. The plate portions are connected in situ by means of at least one cover plate which bridges the joint between the plate portions and connects the two plate portions in a force-transmitting relationship. At least one of the connections between the cover plate and the plate portions is hinged, having a rotational degree of freedom about an axis extending horizontally transversely to the orientation of the relevant plate.

    Abstract: In order to repair a bridge in the zone of an expansion joint initially at least the near-surface components of the bridging device that is to be replaced are dismounted and the existing lane structure in the zones bordering the bridging device that is to be replaced is removed in the areas facing the abutment and the superstructure so as to form recesses placed at a lower level than the lane surface, whereupon a temporary bridging element located at the ground level is removably mounted. In order to entirely dismount one section of the bridging device that is to be replaced after another and perform preparatory work for assembling a new permanent bridging device, at least the bridging plate is repeatedly removed and re-assembled as required.

    Abstract: A bridging device for an expansion joint arranged between an abutment and an overhang in a traveling construction. The abutment and overhang are provided with recesses adjacent to the expansion joint, the recesses being filled with polymer concrete, and wherein a retaining section of a metallic edge profile is respectively embedded therein. An elastic sealing profile extends between the two edge profiles and is sealingly connected to the two edge profiles. A toothed profile is connected to each edge profile on the surface thereof, wherein the surface thereof terminates with the surface of the polymer concrete and the lining of the roadway and whose teeth engage with the other respective toothed profile.
