  • Patent number: 4544290
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a daisy wheel on a shaft driven by a motor in a daisy wheel printer comprises a driving head carried by the driven shaft at its free end, while the daisy wheel is provided with a coupling member. This coupling member is adapted to be coupled in a rotation fixed manner with and to be removed from the driving head by moving the daisy wheel in a substantial radial direction. A locking means is movable between a release position in which the daisy wheel is movable in a substantial radial direction with respect to the driving head and a working position in which the daisy wheel is locked on the driving head.A daisy wheel to be used in a printer with such an apparatus, comprises a central portion and a number of radially extending spokes carrying at their ends a letter, figure or a similar character. Two ribs are formed in V-shape on the one side of the daisy wheel.

  • Patent number: 4496253
Abstract: The inventor discloses a hammer assembly suited for use in generating impact for printers, such as printers using daisy-wheels. The assembly comprises an electromagnetic assembly for selectively producing an electromagnetic field across an air gap. A hammer element is slidably disposed in said gap so that it is biased in a rest position and moves toward another position when said field is activated.A damping assembly is provided to dampen the reciprocating movement of the hammer element. The damping assembly has a rigid element which collides with the hammer element to bring it to a stop at its rest position. A shock absorbing element is used to dissipate the kinetic energy of the element.

  • Patent number: 4219765
Abstract: A servo system for controlling the position and speed of movable members coupled to the shaft of a motor. To maintain these members as accurately as possible in the desired position, the motor is included in a servoloop having a critical setting so that this setting is established only during the operative condition of the members coupled to the motor shaft. Moreover, the critical setting is automatically re-adjustable.
