Abstract: The invention provides an automatic latch having a first latch member and a second latch member. The first latch member may include an opening and a cam structure. The second latch member may include a pivoted structure that includes a protrusion and a cam surface. The second latch member may also include a spring having first and second spring portions. As the cam structure is advanced towards the cam surface of the pivoted structure such that the cam structure passes over the protrusion of the pivoted structure, the first spring portion applies a bias causing the protrusion to protrude through the opening of the first latch member when the cam structure clears the protrusion. Thus, the latch is placed in a locked configuration. When in the locked configuration, the second spring portion applies a bias that tends to separate the first latch member from the second latch member, so that the latch may spring apart when intentionally unlocked.

Abstract: A storage container has a container body with an upwardly facing opening and a lid connected to the container body that is pivotally movable between open and closed positions. At least one latch is provided at each of the front side, left side, and right side of the container body to secure the lid to the container body. A seal structure is disposed at an interface between the lid and an upper portion of the container. The seal structure generally surrounds the upwardly facing opening and is compressed when the lid is latched in the closed position by the latches. The container body may also include a plurality of compartments each with upper edges defining an upwardly facing opening. The upper edges can be positioned to engage an inner surface of the lid when the lid is in the closed position so that the lid closes off the compartments.

Abstract: An electrically and manually lockable container system that includes a container having a container portion and a cover. The cover can be selectively disposed in locked or unlocked conditions relative to the container portion. The container system carries a lock system that includes a latch member that is movable between a locked and unlocked configuration. In the locked configuration, the latch member prevents the cover from being moved from the locked to the unlocked condition. In the unlocked configuration, the latch member permits the cover to be moved from the locked to the unlocked condition. The lock system includes a motor operatively connected with the latch member and a controller that operates the motor to move the latch member between the locked and unlocked configurations. The lock system also includes a manual key arrangement that enables the latch member to be manually moved between the locked and unlocked configuration.

Abstract: A container having a container portion with an interior space in which articles to be transported can be stored and a lid pivotably connected to the container portion. The lid is moveable relative to the container portion between an opened and closed position. The container also includes a latch arrangement that is constructed to secure the lid in covering relation with respect to the container portion and a hinge structure that is constructed to enable the lid to pivot relative to the container portion. The container includes a support that engages a surface on which a bottom surface rests when the lid is in the opened position, so as to support the lid in the open position. The support is positioned proximate to the container portion when the lid is in the closed position and movable to an extended position when the lid is in the open position.

Abstract: An apparatus for transporting articles between working locations. The apparatus includes wheels mounted towards the bottom of the apparatus for rotation about an axis to provide rolling support for the apparatus and a manually engageable pulling handle. The pulling handle and the ground engaging wheels are arranged to enable a user to manually pull the pulling handle generally rearwardly so as to tilt the apparatus rearwardly to a tilted rolling movement position, thereby enabling the user to roll the apparatus to a desired location by pushing or pulling the pulling handle in a desired direction. The apparatus also includes a frame and at least one or more mount structures adjustably connected to the frame. The apparatus further includes a plurality of containers connected to the mount structures, where at least one of the containers are of a different configuration from another one of the containers.

Abstract: A tool container assembly includes a container, rollers, a handle, and a slidable closure member. The container includes an upper and a lower storage space therein, a rear wall, opposing side walls, a lower front wall and a front opening above the lower front wall. The front opening generally lies along a plane that extends away from the rear wall as it extends downwardly. The slidable closure member is slidably movable between a first position wherein it substantially covers the front opening and a second position wherein it exposes the front opening. The closure member moves to a position wherein it generally lies between the plane and the lower front wall, and at an angle with respect to the plane, when it is moved to the second position.

Abstract: A truck bed mountable storage system that includes a container unit and a dock unit. The container unit includes a base container defining a storage space for storing items and a cover. The cover is movable between an open condition permitting access to the storage space and a closed condition preventing access to the storage space. The container unit also includes a latch engaging structure. The dock unit is constructed and arranged to be fixed to a truck bed. The docking unit includes a latch arranged to releasably lock the latch engaging structure so as to releasably lock the container unit to the dock unit. The dock unit carries a release member that is movable to release the latch and thereby release the container unit from the dock unit. Another aspect of the invention provides for the dock unit to include the latch engaging structure and the container unit to include the latch and release member.

The alarm system is generally carried by the container and has an activated state and a deactivated state. The alarm system, when in the activated state, is capable of outputting an alarm indication in response to a condition of the tool container. The alarm system includes a detector, a controller, a signaling device and a power supply. The detector is configured to detect the condition of the tool container. The controller is configured to receive an input signal from the detector based on the detected condition of the tool container. The signaling device is operatively connected to the controller and is configured to generate the alarm indication in response to receiving an output signal from the controller.
