    Abstract: A rotor blade capable of use in the high temperature environment of the turbine section of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. Various construction details which tend to equalize the metal temperature of the blade during operation also improve the cooling effectiveness of the cooling medium utilized. The system is built around convective, impingement, and film cooling techniques which are employed singly or in combination to improve the service life of the blade.
