  • Patent number: 4819670
Abstract: A lice comb comprises a handle and a resiliently flexible elongated member having the end portions thereof connected to the handle and teeth mounted outwardly from the member and extending in the same plane as the handle. A manually movable cam member is mounted on the handle and contacts the member opposite the side holding the teeth and intermediate of the end portions to flex the member outwardly relative to the handle between a minimum flexure position wherein the teeth have a minimum spacing therebetween and a maximum flexure position wherein the teeth have a maximum spacing therebetween. As a result the comb can be used for different textures of hair and the teeth can be easily cleaned.

  • Patent number: 4729635
Abstract: A hand-held microscope has two articulated members movable towards and away from each other for focusing. One member holds a specimen to be examined and has an object aperture with which the specimen is aligned during use. The other member has a lens aperture aligned with the object aperture and bears a lens member having at least two different lenses thereon and which is rotatably mounted thereon for bringing any one of the lenses into alignment with the object aperture.

  • Patent number: 4502498
Abstract: A comb and a method of making a comb having a handle including two main surfaces having a common edge and a plurality of substantially parallel, spaced apart, elongated teeth extending from the main edge. Each tooth comprises identical first and second sections, each including a planar base portion. All of the first sections are aligned and all of the second sections are aligned and the planar base portions of the first and second sections of each tooth abut and are transversely offset with respect to each other by a distance less than the distance between adjacent aligned sections. In this way the resulting spacing between adjacent teeth is less than the tooth sections spacing.

  • Patent number: 4380790
Abstract: A multi-function light device includes a base having two opposed main surfaces and an aperture extending through the main surfaces. A first magnifying lens is mounted on the base and aligned with the aperture to enable magnified viewing through the base member from the one main surface to the other main surface. An energizable source of blacklight blue light and an energizable source of white light are mounted on the other main surface and disposed about the first magnifying lens. The light sources are connectable to an energy source. The device is particularly suitable to enable lice detection on a patient.
