  • Patent number: 10694161
Abstract: An illumination apparatus makes it possible to properly perform white balance (WB) processing that is image processing for WB correction on the premise of an illumination apparatus that uses a specific light source. The illumination apparatus includes a light source using a light-emitting diode (LED) and a transmitter configured to transmit color information relating to the LED, and the transmitter transmits, as the color information relating to the LED, color information that compensates a difference between spectral characteristics of the specific light source and spectral characteristics of the LED.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 2018
Date of Patent: June 23, 2020
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Patent number: 9785036
Abstract: An imaging system includes a flash device that can automatically drive a movable unit provided with a light emitting unit to change an irradiating direction of the light emitting unit, and an imaging device. The imaging system includes a first distance measuring unit that measures a distance to an object, a correcting unit that corrects first distance information obtained by the first distance measuring unit performing measurement, and a calculating unit that calculates the irradiating direction of the light emitting unit based on the corrected first distance information, wherein the correcting unit corrects the first distance information in a direction in which the irradiating direction calculated by the calculating unit separates away from the object.

  • Patent number: 9609229
Abstract: A light emitting apparatus that can obtain accurate color information including change of color information during luminescence. An information obtaining unit obtains status information on a status change of a light source in a luminescence time period of the light source. A determination unit determines color information of a light emitted from the light source in the luminescence time period based on the status information obtained by the information obtaining unit.

  • Patent number: 9049361
Abstract: Light emission control makes it possible to determine an appropriate main light emission amount even when an optical accessory that changes color characteristics of transmitted light is attached forward of a light emission section of an illumination device. A strobe capable of having a color filter attached thereto, which changes color characteristics of transmitted light. The strobe includes a strobe microcomputer that acquires information on characteristics of the color filter attached forward of the light emission section, and transmits the acquired information on the characteristics to an image pickup apparatus on which the strobe is mounted.

  • Publication number: 20120082777
Abstract: A method of producing a phosphor film includes performing a first treatment wherein a suspension, in which a plurality of first particles having a median diameter that is equal to or smaller than 1/10 of a median diameter of a plurality of phosphor particles is dispersed in a dispersion medium, is applied to a first phosphor particle layer having the plurality of phosphor particles previously provided on a base substance, and subsequently the dispersion medium in the suspension is vaporized, thereby obtaining a second phosphor particle layer in which the plurality of first particles have been arranged in a space between the mutually adjacent phosphor particles. A binding solution is applied to the second phosphor particle layer, and a dispersion medium or a solvent contained in the binding solution is vaporized to bind the plurality of phosphor particles.
