  • Publication number: 20240193695
Abstract: A modular system and tools to manage access to standard of living, quality of life benefits, and reduce social vulnerabilities in underserved communities. The disclosure includes client applications, specialized tools and hosted services. Data analytics, modified Lorenz curves, and vulnerability metrics are implemented to design, measure, monitor and provide tools for use by policy makers, developers, and service providers. Optimization algorithms, artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IOT) are integrated with public and private, and real-time infrastructure data for equitable access to economic benefits and opportunities. Further, nodes are implemented to provide customized tools focused on clients' needs.

  • Patent number: 4521313
Abstract: The present invention is a process for purifying a fluid, particularly an industrial coolant fluid, contained within a contaminated mixture which includes mechanically emulsified as well as free or floating oil and various solid matter including metal fines. The process includes several steps for separating and recovering the coolant fluid from the mixture generally by fluid displacement and centrifugal separation. Recovered coolant fluid is regenerated with freshly made coolant fluid and any stored, recovered coolant fluid not immediately reused is recycled through a portion of the system to prevent any degradation of the stored fluid.

  • Patent number: 4515607
Abstract: The invention is a system which separates and reclaims a gas, e.g. methane, an aqueous fluid, e.g. water, and solids, e.g. coal from a slurry mixture. One application of the invention is in the degasification operations of underground mining. The system is hermetically constructed for the safe separation, collection and reclamation of the various components of the mixture.

  • Patent number: 4422931
Abstract: In an apparatus for efficiently and thoroughly cleaning tramp oil and contaminants from machine coolant; a tank 12 having three compartments 32, 52 and 66 with a quietener baffle 58 located between the first compartment 32 and the main compartment 52, a torturous path between the main compartment 52 and the clean coolant storage compartment 66, and an agglomeration baffle 76 between the main and storage compartments 52, 66, respectively, is provided. Further, the flow quietener baffle 76 is arranged within the tank 12 so that material flowing from the first compartment 32 to the main compartment 52 will flow generally down the quietener baffle 58 and arrive in the main compartment 52, substantially at the level of the interface 46 between the floating light material 42 and the heavy material 44 with a minimum of disturbance to interface 46. Rapid and complete floatation of oily material containing heavy contaminants is achieved by the addition of aeration bubbles 62 within the first compartment 32.

  • Patent number: 4375411
Abstract: A device (90) for limiting the vortex flow of a fluid is disclosed. The device includes means (91) for securing the device to a fixed position in a forced vortex environment at a location near the origin of the vortex flow. Means (94-98) for redeveloping an interrupted vortex flow and allowing the passage of the vortex air core therethrough is also provided but is spaced apart from but connected to the securing means (91). Means (93) for interrupting the vortex flow near its origin includes a passageway defined by the securing means (91) and the means for redeveloping the vortex flow.

  • Patent number: 4366058
Abstract: In an apparatus for settling solid particulate matter apart from a fluid flow, a combination of fluid flow quieteners (30, 40) is provided. One of the fluid flow quieteners (30) includes an inlet baffle (32) having staggered, spaced-apart, generally trapezoidal-shaped openings therein (33), an end plate (35), and channel (36) defined by the inlet baffle (32), the end plate (35), and a side (37) of the tank. Another quietener (40) positioned near the bottom (18) of the tank (10) includes a pair of spaced-apart wall members (43, 44). Arranged between the wall members (43, 44) are a first generally upwardly sloping baffle (45) and a second baffle (46) positioned substantially normal to the first baffle (45). The second baffle (46) has spaced-apart openings (48) therein. A flow rate adjusting means (49) is positioned apart from and generally above the second baffle (46).
