  • Patent number: 6267068
Abstract: The invention concerns a stitched seam for high-tensile woven fabric sections, in particular dryer screen fabric for paper machine clothing, wherein the warp yarn loops (6) located at the end of the two woven fabric sections (1, 2) to be interconnected are interconnected at the common seam line by a closure wire (9). Associated with the warp yarn loops (6) at the location of the stitched seam and with the closure wire (9) is at least one reinforcing yarn (8) which takes up loops disposed parallel to the warp yarn loops in the eyelet region in order to take up the closure wire.

  • Patent number: 6065505
Abstract: A stitched seam for high-tensile woven fabric strips, in particular for dryer screen fabric for paper machine clothing, wherein the warp thread loops of the two fabric sections to be interconnected are connected at the location of the common seam by a closure wire. At least one of the two outer regions of the two fabric strip sections to be interconnected comprises a worked-in helix at the location of the seam. Each of the helices embraces at least one weft thread and the closure thread. The other region of the stitched seam of the ends of the two fabric strip sections consists of the loops formed by the warp threads of the fabric.

  • Patent number: 5601120
Abstract: A papermakers fabric has concentric double pin seam loops on each end for enabling it to be seamed to form an endless form for use on a papermaking machine. A seaming method for making double seaming loops is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4315049
Abstract: A novel low bulk seam is disclosed for use in paper making machine fabrics, such as dryer felts. The seam is particularly adapted for use with multi-filament yarns which comprise multi-ply fabrics. A novel method for producing this seam is disclosed which comprises the insertion and adhesion of a seaming coil, the removal of picks in adjacent fabric areas, the folding and overlapping of such areas, the creation of a warp fringe, and the pulling of portions of that fringe into and through portions of the fabric body fasteners to create a stitchless seam providing substantially uniform thickness and air permeability across the full fabric width. A durable, reliable, non-marking seam is accordingly provided for use with spun, mono-filament and/or multi-filament fabrics.

The seam is particularly adapted for use with multi-filament yarns which comprise multi-ply fabrics. A novel method for producing this seam is disclosed which comprises the insertion of a seaming coil, the removal of picks in adjacent fabric areas, the folding and sewing of such areas, the creation of a warp fringe, the weaving back of portions of that fringe into the fabric body, and the application of various fasteners including adhesive and sewing to create a unique, reliable seam providing substantially uniform thickness and air permeability across the full fabric width. A durable, reliable, non-marking seam is accordingly provided.
