  • Patent number: 7261208
Abstract: Apparatus and method for drying sludge, in particular sewage sludge, by creating a granulate from the dried product. A mixture of a carrier material consisting of recycled sludge which has already been dried and liquid sludge is fed to a dryer 6. The dried product is fed to a solids separator 8 after the dryer 6 and is stored intermediately in the former in an intermediate container that is placed immediately downstream of the separator.

  • Publication number: 20040112796
Abstract: The invention refers to a method for drying sludge, in particular sewage sludge, by creating a granulate from the dried product. According to said method, a mixture of a carrier material consisting of recycled sludge which has already been dried and liquid sludge is fed to a dryer 6. The invention is characterised in that the dried product is fed to a solids separator 8 after the dryer 6 and is stored intermediately in the former in an intermediate container that is placed immediately downstream of said separator. The invention also relates to an installation for carrying out said method.

  • Patent number: 6006440
Abstract: The invention is directed to a process and apparatus for drying a slurry, particularly a sludge, such as sewage sludge, in which a sludge mixture of recycled dried sludge and wet sludge is fed to a drier. The quantity of wet sludge or recycled dried sludge supplied to the drier is controlled based upon drier inlet temperature. In this way, the evaporation rate of the drier is kept substantially constant.

  • Patent number: 5940987
Abstract: A heat exchanger particularly for use in fluidized-bed driers, includes at least one supply pipe and one discharge pipe for the heat transfer fluid, and at least one heat exchange tube carrying the heat transfer fluid. In order to make the heat exchanger tubes easily accessible and to ensure that the distribution and drainage system for the heat transfer fluid affects the flow through the heat exchanger as little as possible, each heat exchanger tube is connected to the supply pipe for heat transfer fluid at one end and is closed at the other end. Each heat exchange tube includes an inner outlet tube pipe with a smaller diameter, which has at least one opening at the closed end of the heat exchanger pipe and an opposite end connected to a drainage discharge pipe for receiving the heat transfer liquid.

  • Patent number: 5417865
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of detecting and removing bulges in continuous strips of material before they enter higher-pressure zones in a dewatering filter press. The method is characterized in that, when a bulge occurs, a sensor is deflected and a control signal generated. The invention also concerns a device for carrying out the method, the device being characterized in that it is fitted with a preferably pressure-tight sensor which is deflected when a bulge occurs in the strip of material being filtered and can be reset when the bulge disappears.

  • Patent number: 5085737
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for the dewatering of a web of cellulosic matter or a web of material for the pasteboard or cardboard production, having endless screen belts or the like circulating in opposite directions between which the web is made to pass for dewatering, the web being made to pass through at least one first dewatering zone with at least two screen belts or the like and thereupon to at least one further dewatering zone, in particular a compresion zone, with at least two screen belts.

  • Patent number: 4834884
Abstract: A pressure device for machines for dewatering or filtering of suspensions, sludges or the like or for material to be pressed for the exertion of surface pressure on at least one circulating pressure belt which can be provided for supporting an equally circulating filter belt, which pressure device consists of an essentially completely hollow pressure bladder in the form of a closed frame in particular of essentially quadrangular shape viewed in top view of the pressure belt, which pressure bladder is subjectable to pressure medium and forms a very small, self-adjusting gap on the edge.
