  • Publication number: 20040072217
Abstract: Methods and kits for analyzing a collection of target sequences in a nucleic acid sample are provided. A sample is amplified under conditions that enrich for a subset of fragments that includes a collection of target sequences. Methods are also provided for analysis of the above sample by hybridization to an array, which may be specifically designed to interrogate the collection of target sequences for particular characteristics, such as, for example, the presence or absence of one or more polymorphisms. Methods of estimating the extent of linkage disequilibrium in a region or population by determination of the ancestral and non-ancestral alleles are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20040067493
Abstract: The presently claimed invention provides for novel methods and kits for analyzing a collection of target sequences in a nucleic acid sample. A sample is amplified under conditions that enrich for a subset of fragments that includes a collection of target sequences. The invention further provides for analysis of the above sample by hybridization to an array, which may be specifically designed to interrogate the collection of target sequences for particular characteristics, such as, for example, the presence or absence of one or more polymorphisms.

  • Publication number: 20030232353
Abstract: Methods are provided for identification of genes that are imprinted. In another embodiment methods are provided for identification and analysis of genes whose expression shows allelic imbalance. The expression products transcribed from genes that are present in the genome as two or more alleles may be distinguished by hybridization to an array designed to interrogate individual alleles. Genes whose transcription products are present in amounts that vary from expected are candidates for allelic imbalance, imprinting and imprinting errors.

  • Publication number: 20030186279
Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, methods are provided for genotyping a large number of SNPs. The methods include a sample preparation protocol that requires only few primers and few reaction vessels.

  • Publication number: 20030148273
Abstract: The presently claimed invention provides methods and kits for isolating and amplifying a specific target sequence from within a nucleic acid population. The presently claimed invention provides selection probes which are complementary to at least a portion of said target sequence and mechanisms for isolating the target-probe complexes from the rest of the nucleic acid population.

  • Publication number: 20030008284
Abstract: The present invention is based on the discovery of polynucleotides that represent genes that are differentially expressed in colon cancer, e.g., adenomatous polyp, colorectal carcinoma, high metastatic potential colon tumor and metastatic colon cancer. The invention features methods of identifying cells affected by such colon diseases by detection of a gene product encoded by such differentially expressed genes, as well as method of modulating expression of such gene products to effect therapy (e.g., to decrease growth and/or affect abnormal characteristics of cancerous or dysplastic colon cells).

  • Publication number: 20020187507
Abstract: The present invention is based on the discovery of polynucleotides that represent novel genes that are differentially expressed in pancreatic disease, e.g., pancreatic cancer, dysplasia, pancreatitis, or diabetes. The invention features methods of identifying cells affected by such pancreatic diseases by detection of a gene product encoded by such differentially expressed genes, as well as methods of modulating expression of such gene products to effect therapy (e.g., to decrease growth and/or affect abnormal characteristics of cancerous or dysplastic pancreatic cells.
