  • Patent number: 9191316
Abstract: At a network device that forwards packets between compute devices and virtual storage area networks using Fiber Channel over Ethernet techniques, data is stored for a virtual fabric port of the network device identifying each of a plurality of virtual storage area networks. For each virtual storage area network, data is stored identifying each of a plurality of compute devices that are logged into the virtual storage area network via the network device. The network device forwards packets sent to the virtual fabric port of the network device from the plurality of compute devices to corresponding ones of the plurality of virtual storage area networks.

Date of Patent: November 17, 2015
    Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.
Inventors: Saugat Majumdar, Srinivas Pitta, Giuseppe Andreello, Kalyan Kumar Ghosh

  • Patent number: 7948920
Abstract: Trunking with port aggregation for fabric ports in a Fiber Channel (FC) fabric and attached devices is described. In some examples, a method of establishing a connection between a node and the FC fabric includes: negotiating a first link between a first trunking node port in the node with a first trunking fabric port in the FC fabric; creating a trunking port channel with the first link as a first member, the trunking port channel supporting a plurality of virtual fabrics; logging in a logical interface for each of the plurality of virtual fabrics to the FC fabric over the trunking port channel; negotiating a second link between a second trunking node port in the node and a second trunking fabric port in the FC fabric; and adding the second link to the trunking port channel as a second member aggregated with the first member.

  • Patent number: 7929842
Abstract: A method of recording Audio-Video Interleaved (AVI) files on a disc, comprising the steps of (a) allocating a predetermined amount of space on the disc as a reserved track, (b) encapsulating audio data and video data into corresponding audio chunks and video chunks to be recorded on the disc, (c) adding a first amount of padding to (i) create a first gap and (ii) position the first gap in relation to the audio chunks and the video chunks in response to completely recording all of the audio chunks and the video chunks, (d) recording data on the reserved track and (e) adding a second amount of padding to (i) create a second gap and (ii) position the second gap in relation to the audio chunks and the video chunks to allow the recording of the Audio-Video Interleaved file to be compliant with a predefined disc standard.
