  • Patent number: 5316750
Abstract: A process for the combustion of a hydrocarbon, such as methane, in particular for energy production, in which the hydrocarbon, which will be assumed to be methane, is fed to a first stage in which it is reacted with recycled carbon dioxide produced during a separate, second stage of the combustion. In the first stage, the following reactions takes place:CH.sub.4 +CO.sub.2 .fwdarw.2CO+2H.sub.2 (1)CH.sub.4 +CO.sub.2 .fwdarw.2C+2H.sub.2 O (2)CO.sub.2 +H.sub.2 .fwdarw.CO+H.sub.2 O (3)The carbon produced in the reaction (2) is separated, and the gaseous mixture produced in said first stage is then fed to a second stage for reaction with oxygen, in which the reaction products are steam and carbon dioxide, this carbon dioxide, minus any excess, being totally recycled to said first stage.

  • Patent number: 3986302
Abstract: A grinding wheel mounting in which the wheel has a mounting hole of polygonal form into which is removably and coaxially inserted a corresponding polygonal shaped portion of an elastically deformable plastic body engaging the internal polygonal surfaces of the wheel. The body has a flange at one end in engagement with one side of the wheel and screw threads at its opposite end threadedly engaging with a slight interference fit, a threaded end portion of a grinding wheel spindle having an annular surface in clamping engagement with an opposite side of the grinding wheel. Upon screw threading the body together with the grinding wheel to the spindle, the grinding wheel is axially clamped beteen the flange on the body and the annular surface on the spindle and the body is slightly deformed radially by the interfering threaded portions thus eliminating axial and radial play, friction, slippage, wear and abrasion of the spindle threads.

  • Patent number: 3960516
Abstract: A grinding wheel is made by locating a grindstone element in a molding tool and injection-molding a supporting part so that a portion of the grindstone element is embedded in the supporting part and securely bonded thereto by the molding operation. Recesses in the embedded portion of the grindstone element ensure good torque transmission between the molded supporting part and the grindstone element.
