Abstract: On a LAN which supports the transmission of data, including multimedia, and digitalized telephone communications, in an integrated way, a method of handling telephone communications and related equipments provides for the exclusive installation in the central processing unit, or network server, specific software dedicated to controlling, monitoring and handling of telephone communications and related equipments. The method provides for the activation of the specific software using a standard Internet browser for sending commands and for the exchange of data on the network, through immediate interaction on bar type graphs (21) on the visualization means of the LAN peripheral computers. The software enables the continuous visual monitoring of the status of the telephone communication in progress or other communications on arrival or on hold.

Abstract: A method for immediately effecting telephone and multimedia communications over the broadband Internet network that comprehensively supports digitalized telephone communications, multimedia communications and electronic data transmissions, through the use of specific Communications Terminals capable of automatically connecting to said Internet network quite like normal POTS telephone devices connect to the traditional PSTN network. A Central Processor also connected to the Internet, is dedicated to supporting said specific Communications Terminals in the aforesaid connection and to interfacing with other similar Terminals. The Central Processor also supports PC or PDA based communications terminals. The Central Processor includes, in particular, a memory section in which the historical data pertaining to the communications made using the supported Terminals, are stored.

Abstract: A method, and apparatus, for the unified management of all types of communications, such as: telephone calls, faxes, SMS and MMS, video, e-mails, CHAT and multimedia communications in general, allows to interface various communications/telecommunications networks and their related transmission protocols. All outbound and inbound communications are controlled and globally managed through an Internet Web Browser that also generates a historical log of the communications and their contents using a single database. All the functions required for the fully integrated management of all the said types of communications to and from every device connected to the LAN comprising the apparatus, and/or the WAN, and/or the Internet, are generated by applying the invention method, thereby producing a full Computer Telephony Integration (CTI). Thanks to the method in question, the management of all types of communications is achieved without the need for any telephone switchboard (PBX, PABX, IPPBX).

Abstract: A BD-ROM stores PlayList information. The PlayList information defines a playback section of each of a plurality of AV clips and includes MainPath information and SubPath information. The MainPath information designates one of the AV clips as a Main Clip and defines a portion of the Main Clip as a primary playback section. The SubPath information designates another one of the AV clips as a SubClip and defines a portion of the SubClip as a secondary playback section that is to be played back in synchronism with the primary playback section. The BD-ROM stores, the one of the AV clips designated as the SubClip along with an EP_map. The EP_map shows a plurality of entry points on the SubClip in a one-to-one correspondence with entry times on the SubClip timeline.
