Patent number: 11957942Abstract: A safety cabinet includes an enclosure and at least one door to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet can be used to store, for example, flammable liquids, flammable waste, corrosives, pesticides, or combustible waste. The safety cabinet incorporates a thermally-actuated damper that includes a body, a valve plate, and a pivot assembly. The valve plate is disposed within the passage of the body such that the valve plate is movable between an open position and a closed position. The pivot assembly includes a biasing system adapted to bias the valve plate to the closed position and a fusible link interconnected between the body and the biasing system to constrain the valve plate from moving from the open position to the closed position. The fusible link is configured to melt at a predetermined temperature to thereby allow the biasing system to move the valve plate to the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Justrite Manufacturing Company, L.L.C.Inventor: Glen A. Publication number: 20110240654Abstract: A receptacle for spent smoking material has a modular construction and can include a base, a lid, a neck, and a head. The base and the lid define a chamber for containing the spent smoking material. The lid can be removably connected to the base through the rotative engagement of corresponding lugs on the base and the lid. The neck can be assembled to the lid using a one-way connector mechanism. The head can be assembled to the neck using a one-way connector mechanism. The head portion has an orifice therein for receiving spent smoking materials, which can be directed through the neck to the chamber. A bucket can be provided in the chamber to receive the spent smoking materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2010Publication date: October 6, 2011Applicant: Justrite Manufacturing Company LLCInventors: Glen A. Publication number: 20080106174Abstract: A safety cabinet comprises an enclosure defining an opening and a door rotatably attached to the enclosure. The door is movable between an open position and a closed position, the door configured to selectively cover the enclosure when in the closed position. The safety cabinet further comprises a latch system to selectively retain the door in the closed position. The latch system can include a paddle handle to operate the latch system. The paddle handle includes a housing, an operating lever to actuate the paddle handle, and a tang. The operating lever is movable between a normal position and an operating position. The tang passes through a slot in the operating lever when the operator lever is in the normal position with an opening in the tang being accessible for receiving a padlock therethrough. The tang is configured such that when a padlock passes through the opening of the tang, the padlock will prevent the operating lever from moving to the operating position.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2006Publication date: May 8, 2008Applicant: Justrite Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Gary A. Publication number: 20060108022Abstract: Disclosed is a funnel including a funnel body extending between a mouth and an exit orifice and a mounting bracket for clamping the funnel body to the pour spout of a safety canister. To adjust the positioning of the funnel body with respect to the pour spout, the funnel body and mounting bracket are pivotally connected. In an embodiment, the funnel body and mounting bracket are made of plastic and pivotally connected together by a living hinge. In another aspect of the invention, to reducing splashing and spillage, the funnel body includes a conical-shaped body and a splash bowl or scupper portion disposed through and extending from the conical-shaped body. The scupper is shaped to direct fluid from the pour spout away from the mouth and toward the orifice exit.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2004Publication date: May 25, 2006Applicant: Justrite Manufacturing Company LLCInventors: Glen Carter, Ted Holmes

Patent number: 6295961Abstract: A rotating spherical head and valve internal combustion engine includes an engine block having at least one combustion cylinder which is sealed by a rotating spherical head and valve. The rotating spherical head and valve includes an intake path opening and exhaust opening for directing intake air into the combustion chamber and for exhausting combustion gasses from the combustion chamber as the spherical head and valve rotates. In one embodiment of the invention, a spark plug and/or fuel injector are mounted in the cylinder combustion chamber for injecting and igniting fuel in each combustion chamber. The ignition can be by the sparkplug or can be by compression of the piston when fuel is injected in the combustion chamber. In a preferred embodiment, the rotating spherical head and valve mechanism allows for improved air intake and exhaust gasses outlet by 100% or more as compared to today's poppet valves.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Inventor: Jacob Glen Carter
