  • Publication number: 20120150769
Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods for optimizing investments in view of anticipated education or mortgage expenses. One an allocation of assets among investments is determined, and education or mortgage costs are to be considered, systems and methods of the invention assist in optimizing a tax treatment by allocating the chosen investments from accounts based on the tax treatment of those accounts. The invention includes a computer system and methods of the invention run on a computer system.

  • Publication number: 20100076908
Abstract: An improved investment optimizing system and method. Once an investor or investment advisor determines the appropriate asset allocation and that there are both taxable accounts and tax-deferred or tax-free investment accounts, the invention will optimize/maximize the investor's ending after-tax asset accumulation, which is the objective of all investors. This is accomplished by allocating the chosen investment vehicles between the taxable and tax-deferred accounts in an optimum way. The invention runs on a computer system and searches for an allocation which results in a maximal return. Intelligent heuristics measure increased performance based on different asset allocations.

  • Publication number: 20070154920
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a novel product and method for isolating ectoparasite saliva proteins, and a novel product and method for detecting and/or treating allergic dermatitis in an animal. The present invention includes a saliva protein collection apparatus capable of collecting ectoparasite saliva proteins substantially free of contaminating material. The present invention also relates to ectoparasite saliva proteins, nucleic acid molecules having sequences that encode such proteins, and antibodies raised against such proteins. The present invention also includes methods to obtain such proteins and to use such proteins to identify animals susceptible to or having allergic dermatitis. The present invention also includes therapeutic compositions comprising such proteins and their use to treat animals susceptible to or having allergic dermatitis.

  • Patent number: 5992343
Abstract: A device for assisting a driver in the parking of a vehicle in a sheltered parking space is provided. The device includes: (a) an upper horizontal bar; (b) two parallel vertical bars, front and rear, which extend down from and are each attached at one end to the upper horizontal bar; and (c) two parallel horizontal bars, front and rear. The rear horizontal bar attaches at approximately a right angle to the rear vertical bar. The device is suspended over and in front of the parking space, such that when a person in the driver's seat of a correctly parked car in the parking space views the device, the front vertical bar is directly in front of the rear vertical bar, and the front horizontal bar is directly in front of the rear horizontal bar.

  • Patent number: 5492695
Abstract: It has been found that hosts which are susceptible to nematode parasite infections can readily be protected from such infections when the parasites are not adapted for a parasite/host relationship to this host. In particular, feline hosts were immunized against heartworm using a variety of antigens derived from Dirofilaria immitis and related nematodes. Because cats are hosts susceptible to this nonadapted parasite, such antigens are successfully protective.
