A transparent cover includes a height that is greater than the height of the base tray and greater than a height of the sample product. The transparent cover is placed over and around the base tray and is secured to the base tray and the at least one product plate assembly when the multi-functional display assembly is in a secured display configuration and is removed from around the base tray when the multi-functional display assembly is in an unsecured display configuration.
