  • Patent number: 6481457
Abstract: A high pressure flow line that is formed from sections of pipe that are coupled together is provided with a safety restraint assembly. The safety restraint assembly is formed by wrapping short, flexible rib tethers around the pipeline near the ends of each section of pipe. A plurality of long tethers are linked end-to-end to form a continuous spine, which is threaded through all of the rib tethers. Each of the tethers contains continuous filaments. The spine is then anchored at each of its terminal ends to suitable anchoring structures. Alternatively, the safety restraint assembly may utilize anchor elements in addition to the tethers.

  • Patent number: 6298882
Abstract: An explosion resistant blanket for a flow line component having a plurality of flexible inner layers constructed from a high tensile strength material. A flexible cover layer covers the inner layers and is constructed from a material that is resistant to degradation from ultraviolet light and that is water resistant. Elongate straps are attached to the inner and cover layers that wrap around the pipeline component and secure the blanket to the component.

  • Patent number: 5689862
Abstract: A safety device is provided for a high-pressure flow line that is formed from sections of pipe that are coupled together. The safety device is formed from a pipe clamp having two halves that are coupled together about one of the pipe sections so that the pipe section is securely held between the two halves of the clamp. A cable is positioned generally along the length of the flow line. A cable engagement portion is joined to one of the two halves of the clamp and has a slot for receiving the cable. A removable slot closure retains the cable within the slot. In one embodiment, a resilient insert can be releasably coupled to the clamp to bear against the exterior of the pipe sections when the clamp is secured thereto.
