  • Publication number: 20230223822
Abstract: An encoder assembly is provided for use in an electromagnetic apparatus including an apparatus body and a rotor. The rotor includes a shaft rotatable relative to the apparatus body. The encoder assembly comprises an encoder and a mounting system for mounting the encoder to the apparatus body. The encoder includes an encoder body and an encoder shaft. The encoder shaft is configured to be coupled with the rotor shaft and rotatable relative to the encoder body about an axis. The mounting system includes a mounting frame fixed relative to the apparatus body and a tether interconnecting the encoder body and the mounting frame. The mounting system permits limited radial and axial movement of the encoder body relative to the mounting frame.

  • Patent number: 11692856
Abstract: An encoder includes a rotatable encoder disc. A clamp is fixed to the encoder disc to rotate therewith. The clamp includes an arcuately extending body presenting a radially inner face and arcuately spaced apart ends defining a gap therebetween. The inner face extends along a clamping path and engages a rotating component to secure the clamp to the rotating component to rotate therewith. The clamp includes an adjustment mechanism for modifying an arcuate extent of the gap by shifting the ends relative to one another and, in turn, modifying the clamping path. The body defines a radially extending cutout facilitating bending of the body in association with expansion or contraction of the gap and modification of the clamping path. The clamp includes a raised boss extending from a front face thereof. The boss presents a contact face spaced axially from the front face and fixedly engaging the encoder disc.

  • Patent number: 10641624
Abstract: An encoder includes a housing including a first set of one or more sidewalls defining a first zone, a second set of one or more sidewalls defining a second zone, and a protection partition having a first surface oriented toward the first zone and a second surface oriented toward the second zone. The protection partition has a sensor opening defined therethrough between the first zone and the second zone. A board stack assembly having a plurality of elevations is positioned such that an interface device and a first portion of a protective wire feedthrough are in the first zone and a second portion of the protective wire feedthrough extends through the sensor opening between the first zone and the second zone. The protective wire feedthrough is coupleable to a sensor device in the second zone. A cover engages the first set of one or more sidewalls to seal the first zone from an ambient environment.

  • Publication number: 20070017955
Abstract: A solid weld-metal-producing material is formed by agglomerating weld metal material powder. An igniter may be integrally formed in or on the agglomerated weld metal material. In addition to typical components of a weld metal material mixture, such as a reductant metal and a transition metal oxide, the agglomerated weld metal mixture may include a binder material, such as sodium silicate. In addition to functioning as a binder to help hold the agglomerated weld metal material together, the binder material may aid in the exothermic reaction that occurs when the weld metal material is ignited. The agglomerated weld metal material may be made by mixing together a reductant metal powder, a transition metal oxide powder, and possibly a binder solution. A slurry of the components may be pressed together, for example, using a die and a ram, and then may be dried.

  • Publication number: 20050233648
Abstract: The terminal block assembly of this invention provides a finger safe method of distributing power while at the same time enabling the installer to make uniform and correct connections to a multiplicity of taps or ports. Each connection includes an abutment or seat physically to engage the end of the conductor and in addition the construction of the block and its insulating case provides the installer with visual access to the tip of the conductor in its proper seated position before the conductor is secured to the block. In order to provide such visual access the walls partially blocking the seating end of each conductor socket are scalloped or provided with an inverted conical section which enables the tip of each conductor to be seen from the top of the block. To facilitate this visual access the entire top of the insulating case is made from a transparent material.
