Abstract: A system and method of providing digitized media content from a remote server through a data network is disclosed. A local content server at the premises of the subscriber hosts an agent process and includes a memory for storing the digitized content. The digitized content may be streamed on demand to client devices through the agent process for a subscription period. However, the subscriber is prevented from otherwise accessing the digitized content from the local server. Also, the digitized content delivered from the remote server to the local server is combined with encoded data identifying the subscriber.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes establishing a wireless connection with a first access point via a wireless protocol in a first sub-network by a wireless electronic device. A network address is assigned to the wireless electronic device having a telephone address. The wireless electronic device roams from the first sub-network to a second sub-network. The wireless connection is automatically disconnected with the first access point, and the wireless connection is seamlessly established with a second access point in the second sub-network. A new network address is assigned to the wireless electronic device at the second sub-network. Alternatively the network address is still assigned to the wireless electronic device at the second sub-network.

Abstract: A server appliance for use in a network of client users is disclosed. The server appliance includes a hub for coupling to one or more client computer workstations. Each client computer workstation is configured to communicate with the server appliance based upon the operating system hosted on the server appliance. The server appliance includes a control panel with a display which enables a system operator to retrieve forgotten password information and initiate an automated procedure for backing up data stored on a non-volatile memory at the appliance server. Additionally, the server appliance includes a parallel port for coupling to a shared parallel port printer which receives print jobs originating at the client computer workstations.
