  • Patent number: 10828820
Abstract: Extrusion die systems, die changers and related methods are provided herein. The die changer for changing of dies in and out of an extrusion line can include a housing having a main supply feed bore therethrough for directing a flowable material and a channel oriented transversely to the main supply feed bore. The die changer can include a slide plate movable through the channel and transverse to a direction of flow through the bore. The slide plate can include an elongate body having a first section and a second section. A first bore can extend through the first section of the elongate body of the slide plate and a second bore can extend through the second section of the elongate body of the slide plate.

  • Patent number: 6264447
Abstract: An air-cooled shaft seal comprises an annular body having an inner surface and an outer surface. One or more helical channels are formed on the inner surface. A plurality of external surfaces such as radial fins are disposed in axially spaced relationship on the outer surface, and extend radially in a direction away from a longitudinal axis of the annular body. The external surfaces present a substantially increased surface area through which heat energy is transferred from polymeric material contained in the seal to the atmosphere. The seal may be installed on one or shafts of a gear pump for transporting a viscous material under pressure.

  • Patent number: 6213745
Abstract: A journal bearing comprises a body having a central longitudinal axis, a cylindrical inner surface coaxially disposed around the longitudinal axis and defining an axial bore, and an outer surface including a peripheral planar section. A lateral face is disposed on an end of the body, and extends between the outer and inner surfaces of the body. A feed channel is formed in the lateral face at an acute angle with respect to the planar section and in an inward direction with respect to the axial bore. A first end of the feed channel communicates with the outer surface of the bearing at a location proximate to the planar section, and a second end of the feed channel communicates with the axial bore. A pocket is formed in the inner surface of the bearing in communication with the second end of the feed channel and extends along a substantially helical path from the lateral face of the bearing. At least a portion of the pocket has a width of greater magnitude than a corresponding depth of the portion.

  • Patent number: 4134418
Abstract: A manual fluid pressure controller has a handle with integral cam which mates with a non-rotating cam follower. Rotation of the handle causes displacement of the cam follower which transmits a force through a metering spring to a metering piston. The metering piston actuates a combined inlet-exhaust valve to admit or exhaust fluid pressure to its one face until the spring force on its other side is balanced. The fluid pressure at the face of the metering piston is connected to the load whose pressure it is desired to control. A cam stop, integral with the cam follower cooperates with a matching stop on the handle to limit handle travel.
