  • Patent number: 9110956
Abstract: Methods and systems for integrating the output generated by a statistical language script into a report of a reporting application. In some implementations a uniform resource identifier may include a hostname, a port, a location of the statistical language script, and one or more parameter names and associated values. The script may be sent to a statistical programming language interface. The statistical programming language interface may generate an output based on the script and using data from a database. The output may be sent to the reporting application for inclusion within a report.

  • Patent number: 9075847
Abstract: A computerized method for identifying a document. A signature may be determined for a first document and compared with a signature for each of one or more additional documents. A document similarity score may be determined and one or more similar documents may be identified based on the document similarity score.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 28, 2012
Date of Patent: July 7, 2015
    Assignee: SAP SE

  • Patent number: 8851364
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for including report characterization information in a report are described herein. A report designer may request insertion of a two dimensional barcode, in the report, which encodes the report characterization information. Based on the request, a report characterization information retrieval formula may be executed to retrieve the report characterization information. The retrieved report characterization information may then be encoded to obtain a two dimensional barcode. The obtained two dimensional barcode may finally be inserted into the report. Once the report is printed, the two dimensional barcode in the report may be scanned by any device with a bar code reader, such as a smart phone to retrieve the additional information related to the report.

  • Publication number: 20140098398
Abstract: A document may contain summary information and detailed information, and the detailed information may be replaced with a set of printed machine-readable codes when the document is printed. As examples of such machine-readable codes, quick response codes (QR codes) may be used by a system to encode detailed information. For example, the system may access one or more tables of information as a list or file of comma-separated values (CSV), and the system may encode the one or more tables into corresponding QR codes. Each QR code hence may function as a “virtual” CSV file embedded in the printed report. A user may use a smart phone read the QR codes from the final printed report, and the smart phone may execute a software application that decodes and presents the detailed information to the user.

  • Publication number: 20130159259
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided for providing feedback regarding validity of data referenced in a report. In this method, the report is accessed, and this report references data stored in a data source separate from the report. A profile of metadata associated with referencing the data source is read from the report, and this profile is verified against a current state of the data source. A mismatch is detected based on the verification and a digital watermark is added to a rendering of the report. This digital watermark informs the mismatch associated with the referenced data.

  • Publication number: 20130027401
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for augmented report viewing are described herein. An image of a report tag of a printed report is captured using a mobile device. The report tag is decoded. The printed report includes one or more report parts and corresponding report part tags. After a successful match based on the decoded tag, a report part tag that corresponds to a report part of the printed report is captured. The report part tag is then decoded. Based on the decoded report part tag, a rendered report part is presented on a screen of the mobile device. In response to a user operation on the mobile device after the rendered report part is presented on the screen, an updated report part is received at the mobile device. The updated report part is then presented on the screen of the mobile device.
