  • Publication number: 20210001775
Abstract: A method for stitching image data captured by multiple vehicular cameras includes equipping a vehicle with a vehicular vision system having a control and a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle so as to have respective fields of view exterior the vehicle. Image data captured by first and second cameras of the plurality of cameras is processed to detect and track an object present in and moving within an overlapping portion of the fields of view of the first and second cameras. Image data captured by the first and second cameras is stitched, via processing provided captured image data, to form stitched images. Stitching of captured image data is adjusted responsive to determination of a difference between a feature of a detected and tracked object as captured by the first camera and the feature of the detected and tracked object as captured by the second camera.

  • Publication number: 20200365030
Abstract: A vehicular control system includes a plurality of sensors disposed at a vehicle, and a control having a data processor. Data captured by the sensors is processed at the control to determine presence of other vehicles and to determine respective speeds and directions of travel of the determined vehicles. The system determines a respective influence value for each of the determined vehicles based on a respective determined potential hazard. The system determines a plurality of potential paths of travel for the equipped vehicle to follow based on the determined respective influence values for the determined vehicles. The system selects, from the determined plurality of potential paths of travel, a path of travel for the equipped vehicle to follow that limits conflict with the determined vehicles. The system at least in part controls steering of the equipped vehicle to guide the equipped vehicle along the selected path of travel.

  • Patent number: 10793067
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of imaging sensors disposed at the vehicle and a display screen disposed in the vehicle. A processing system is operable to process captured image data and to combine and/or manipulate captured image data to provide a three-dimensional representation of the exterior scene for display at the display screen. The processing system is operable to process the captured image data in accordance with a curved surface model, and is operable to process the image data to provide the three-dimensional representation as if seen by a virtual observer from a first virtual viewing point exterior of the vehicle having a first viewing direction. The processing system is operable to adjust the curved surface model when displaying the three-dimensional representation from a second virtual viewing point exterior of the vehicle having a second viewing direction to provide enhanced display of the images.

  • Patent number: 10733892
Abstract: A vehicular control system for a vehicle includes a plurality of sensors. Responsive to data processing, the vehicular control system determines respective speeds of the determined vehicles and respective directions of travel of the determined vehicles, and determines respective influence values for the determined vehicles based on determined potential hazards to the equipped vehicle presented by the respective determined vehicles. The determined respective influence value for each determined vehicle is weighted according to direction and/or magnitude of a speed vector of that determined vehicle. The weighted determined respective influence values for the determined vehicles are ranked according to their hazard potential. A path of travel is selected from the plurality of determined paths responsive at least in part to the rankings of the weighted determined respective influence values. The system at least in part controls vehicle steering to guide the equipped vehicle along the selected path of travel.

  • Publication number: 20200154091
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of cameras and a processor operable to process image data captured by the cameras to generate images derived from image data captured by at least some of the cameras. A display screen, viewable by a driver of the vehicle, displays the generated images and a three dimensional vehicle representation as would be viewed from a virtual camera viewpoint exterior to and higher than the vehicle itself. A portion of the displayed vehicle representation may be at least partially transparent to enable viewing at the display screen of an object present exterior of the vehicle that would otherwise be partially hidden by non-transparent display of that portion of the vehicle representation. The three dimensional representation may include a vector model without solid surfaces, or may include a shape, body type, body style and/or color corresponding to that of the actual vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10486596
Abstract: A dynamic image stitching system for stitching images captured by cameras of a vision system for a vehicle includes a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle and having respective fields of view exterior the vehicle. The field of view of each side camera partially overlaps the field of view of a front camera and partially overlaps the field of view of a rear camera. • Publication number: 20190308609
Abstract: A vehicular automated parking system includes a camera having a field of view rearward of the vehicle. When the vehicle is parked in a parking space, with a forward vehicle parked in front of the vehicle and a rearward vehicle parked behind the vehicle, the vehicular automated parking system determines a forward limit of the parking space responsive to a driver of the vehicle driving the vehicle forward until a front end of the vehicle is close to the forward vehicle. Responsive to the determined forward limit of the parking space, and responsive to processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera, the vehicular automated parking system controls the vehicle when the vehicle is leaving the parking space in a manner that avoids the forward vehicle parked in front of the vehicle and the rearward vehicle parked behind the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10434944
Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a color camera that captures image data, which is processed using an in-line dithering algorithm. The in-line dithering algorithm determines most significant bits and least significant bits of first color data captured by a first photosensing element of a row or column, and the least significant bits of the first color data are added to second color data captured by a second photosensing element of the row or column to generate second adjusted color data. The in-line dithering algorithm determines most significant bits and least significant bits of the second color data, and the least significant bits of the second color data are added to third color data captured by a third photosensing element of the row or column to generate third adjusted color data.

  • Patent number: 10328932
Abstract: A driver assistance system of a vehicle includes at least one vehicle environmental sensor having a field of sensing exterior of the vehicle. A sensor data processor is operable to process sensor data captured by the sensor. When the vehicle is operated, the sensor data processor receives captured sensor data that is representative of the vehicle surrounding scene. The sensor data processor fuses the sensor data with map data to generate an annotated master map of the scene captured by the sensor. A display device is operable to display information for viewing by a driver of the vehicle. The displayed information is derived at least in part from the annotated master map and is displayed for viewing by the driver of the vehicle who is executing a maneuver of the vehicle.
