  • Patent number: 4542042
Abstract: A process for preparing free-flowing microcapsules by taking advantage of the phase-separation of ethylcellulose in cyclohexane is disclosed. In this process, a hydrocarbon compound which is soluble in cyclohexane and have a molecular weight of 150 to 3,000 and a solubility parameter (.delta., at 25.degree. C.) of 7 to 10 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 is used as the phase-separation-inducing agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 1, 1983
Date of Patent: September 17, 1985
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Masayoshi Samejima, Goichi Hirata, Takashi Ishibashi
  • Patent number: 4486471
Abstract: Pharmaceutically active compound-containing microcapsules the coating walls of which consist essentially of ethylcellulose and a water-insoluble, acid-soluble polymer material are disclosed. A method of preparing said microcapsules is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 5, 1982
Date of Patent: December 4, 1984
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Masayoshi Samejima, Goichi Hirata, Yoshiyuki Koida, Akira Kida
  • Patent number: 4462982
Abstract: Ethylcellulose microcapsules, wherein a polymer material which shows at least 1.2 times increase in weight by immersing it in water at 37.degree. C. is incorporated into the ethylcellulose coating walls and/or the core material thereof, are disclosed. Said ethylcellulose microcapsules show rapid release of the core material in digestive organs such as stomach.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 17, 1982
Date of Patent: July 31, 1984
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.

  • Patent number: 4443497
Abstract: Microcapsules are prepared by conducting the phase-separation of a coating polymer material in the presence of ethylcellulose. Ethylcellulose present in the phase separation system minimizes the coagulation of the coating polymer material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 1981
Date of Patent: April 17, 1984
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Masayoshi Samejima, Goichi Hirata
  • Patent number: 4411933
Abstract: A process for preparing ethylcellulose microcapsules by flocculation of the ethylcellulose is disclosed. In this process, the flocculation of the ethylcellulose is carried out in the presence of an organosilicon polymer or in the presence of said organosilicon polymer and a surfactant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 1981
Date of Patent: October 25, 1983
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Masayoshi Samejima, Goichi Hirata
  • Patent number: 4389331
Abstract: A process for preparing ethylcellulose microcapsules of a pharmaceutically active compound by phase separation-coacervation of the ethylcellulose is disclosed. In this process, phospholipids are used as a phase-separation-inducing agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 1980
Date of Patent: June 21, 1983
    Assignee: Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Masayoshi Samejima, Goichi Hirata, Yoshiyuki Koida
  • Patent number: 4218333
Abstract: A process for the preparation of pharmaceutical substance-containing microcapsules by liquid-liquid phase separation is disclosed. In this process, ethyl cellulose having an ethoxy content of about 48 to about 49.5% by weight is used as a wall-forming agent and polyisobutylene is used as a phase separation inducing agent, and both or either one of the ethyl cellulose and polyisobutylene are used in the form of a mixture of two kinds differing in the average molecular weight.
