  • Patent number: 10918985
Abstract: A filter cell element for use in a housing to form a filtering assembly. The filter element has a media pack having an interior and a separator element having a passage therein for radial fluid communication between the media pack interior and an edge of the media pack. An overmold seal at the media pack edge seals the media pack to the separator element. Methods of making the filter element and methods of using are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140224748
Abstract: Provided are filtration devices for purifying fluids from bioprocess applications and processes for using the same. The fluid filter elements or cells and fluid filter assemblies or capsules minimize upstream and residual volumes by the use of substantially flat interior surfaces. Desired pressure ratings are also met without the use of external equipment. Such capsules and assemblies can be disposable. The cells and capsules are in particular suitable for intermediate filtration volumes (150-2500 cm2 effective filtration area (EFA)) of biopharmaceutical processes. One or more of the following features are also provided by these cells and capsules: ergonomic connections, stand alone device with desired pressure rating, offer a small footprint when running in series or parallel, ability to monitor fluid level during operation, provide various EFA sizes to allow for use with minimal fluid volumes, and offer an integral seal between clean and dirty process fluid streams.

  • Patent number: 8636151
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to injection molded thermoplastic single filter media layer and multi-filter media layer filter cartridges that include a novel arrangement of structural features to improve both the quality of the manufacturing process and the integrity of the filter media layer seal and more particularly to a process for manufacturing both single filter media layer and multi-filter media layer filter cartridges and to the single filter media layer and the multi-filter media layer filter cartridges produced thereby and even more particularly to a process for manufacturing a multi-filter media layer filter cartridge without cracking the upper most filter media layer or any filter media layer during the compressing of at least two porous filter media layers between an inlet and an outlet while insuring an effective seal and the multi-filter media layer filter cartridges produced thereby and, yet, more particularly, to single filter media layer and the multi-filter media layer filter car

  • Publication number: 20130228509
Abstract: A filtration system (20) is disclosed comprising a filter manifold (100) and a filter cartridge (200). The filter cartridge (200) comprises a cartridge body (202) comprising a flow axis (201) and an installation direction orthogonal to the flow axis, a first cartridge port (210) oriented parallel to the flow axis (201) at a first cartridge end (211), the first cartridge port (210) comprising a first extending portion (230) moveable with respect to the cartridge body (202) along the flow axis (201) to a cartridge loading position (234) and a cartridge service position (236), and a second cartridge port (220) oriented parallel to the flow axis (201) at a second cartridge end (221). The filter manifold (100) comprises a first manifold port (110) to fluidly connect to the first cartridge port (210) along the flow axis (201) when the first extending portion (230) is in the cartridge service position (236), and a second manifold port (120) to fluidly connect to the second cartridge port (220).
