Abstract: A mounting apparatus for an anti-skid device for vehicles comprises an arm flexible essentially in one plane, fixed to the vehicle, and in its free end carrying a rotatable pulley which at its periphery has chain pieces attached thereto. The arm comprises a plurality of positioning elements fixed to a contracting member and enclosing at least one resilient tie member which, in a neutral position, gives the arm an arched shaped. When a pull line is activated the positioning elements form a rigid stack, whereby the pulley is moved down and pressed against one of the wheels of the vehicle.

Abstract: This invention relates to an anti-skid device for motor vehicles, which device is of the known kind at which a friction pulley abuts a drive wheel and the pulley is provided with chain links, the free ends of which are thrown in between the tire and the ground. The invention is characterized in that the friction pulley (8,19) is supported on one end of an arm (6), which at its other end is supported pivotally about a journal (5) rigidly connected to the vehicle or the spring system thereof, and pneumatic means (10) are provided by action of a control means in the driver's cab to swing the arm (6) with the pulley (8,19) from a protected non-operative position to a pneumatically resilient contact against the tire (23).

Abstract: A mechanism for moving a slidable load carrier to and fro along a trailer includes a hydraulic double-acting servomotor having a piston rod which selectively engages with one or other of two sets of oppositely directed lugs, in the form of ratchet teeth, carried by a channel member fixed to the underside of the load carrier. The hydraulic servomotor is pivotally mounted on the trailer. The sets of ratchet teeth engaged are selected, for movement in either a forward direction or backward direction, by adjusting the angle of inclination of the hydraulic servomotor in a vertical plane. The hydraulic servomotor is controlled by a pneumatic servomotor coupled through a horizontally extending operating rod. The pneumatic control servomotor has a diaphragm disposed in a vertical plane in a casing which is provided at the bottom with a drain valve for removing water condensed within the interior.
