  • Publication number: 20150292049
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for quenching a hydrothermal, dilute acid hydrolysis reaction of a biomass feedstock, wherein degradation of an aqueous monomer and/or oligomer sugar mixture is slowed down or stopped by flash cooling of the aqueous monomer and/or oligomer sugar mixture, and wherein the flash cooling ensures that a fraction of dissolved and volatile degradation byproducts are removed by a forming vapor stream, and wherein a lignin component, if present, is solidified into a structure with good de-watering characteristics, allowing for subsequent removal of the lignin component by separation, said process resulting in a hydrolyzed solution of sugar monomers and/or oligomers.

  • Patent number: 5765919
Abstract: An arm-rest which can be readily adjusted vertically and laterally and intended, for instance, for a toilet or lavatory seat, and which has few movable parts. A positionally adjustable arm-rest includes an arm-rest part and a frame-part, wherein one end (1) of the arm-support part is inserted together with two surrounding slide blocks (5) into the frame-part (3) enabling the arm-support part to be retained in its raised or lowered position. With the arm-rest in an essentially non-loaded state, the slide blocks (5) fix and hold the arm-rest in a horizontal position. The end of the arm-rest also includes a pressure surface (6) which acts against the inner surface of the frame-part so that the arm-rest will not give way when subjected to load. The user can readily adjust the position of the arm-rest by gripping the part and swinging it slightly upwards while moving the same to the position desired.

  • Patent number: 5433049
Abstract: The prefabricated creep foundation in accordance with the invention is a building system for the laying of the foundations for a heated building with a beam structure above an enclosed, unventilated creep space. The foundations are constructed from base plates made of concrete, foundation beams made of concrete with internal cellular plastic, and ventilation grids for ventilation. The foundation beams consist of an externally reinforced high concrete slab with thick, cast-on-cellular plastic insulation on the inside. The creep space can be inspected more easily thanks to the considerable height of the foundation beams. The thick cellular plastic insulation on the foundation beams enables surplus heat to be utilized, so that the laying of the foundations can take place at a reduced foundation depth. The foundations can be laid using a crane, and can be adapted to the requirements of the project.
