Patent number: 4436309Abstract: A game including a game board having a base and pegs upstanding on the base arranged in columns and rows to define a grid of uniformly sized squares. A plurality of square cards each of which is divided into nine colored squares identical in size to the squares of the game board is provided. Notches are formed along the sides of each card at the corners of each square and openings are formed in the card at the corners of the center square so that the cards can be fitted over the pegs and against one another and the base of the game board. The squares on the cards are arranged in patterns of color so the cards can be placed on top of one another in a partially overlapping manner to ultimately form a pattern of nine contiguous squares of the same color when viewed from above.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1982Date of Patent: March 13, 1984Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventors: Gordon A. Patent number: 4434893Abstract: A tamper evident packaging for contaminatable products. The packaging includes inner and outer gas-tight containers. In one embodiment, the inner container has only one flexible wall and the outer container has only one flexible wall. The inner and outer containers are each pressurized with gas above atmospheric pressure to inflate their flexible walls. In another embodiment of the invention, both walls of each of the inner and outer containers are flexible. The capsules, pill and the like to be protected are located inside the inner container and the inner container is positioned inside the outer container providing a package which is difficult to tamper with and will clearly show evident of tampering both through appearance and characteristic feel to the would be purchaser.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1983Date of Patent: March 6, 1984Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventor: Gordon A. Patent number: 4420261Abstract: An optical position location apparatus for locating the position of an object in one or more dimensions, which relies upon one or more sources of radiant energy and distributor devices to disburse such radiant energy over a location region or window. Integrated collector assemblies positioned opposite to the distributors receive and collect the transmission of the distributed radiant energy and through reflection or refraction, transfer radiant energy to a minimum of detection locations to monitor the absence or alteration thereof. A rotating optical scanner and a detector are utilized with a continuous stationary light source to successively monitor specific location-coordinate-related portions of transmitted radiant energy and through electronic circuitry, a signal is developed to disclose, with accuracy, the location of objects within the location region "window", as well as other parameters including object size.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1980Date of Patent: December 13, 1983Assignee: Lowbar, Inc.Inventors: Gordon A. Patent number: 4348028Abstract: A board game including a base having a path on which playing pieces can be moved from a starting point to a finish point. A number of dunking stations for the playing pieces are located along the path. Each dunking station includes a tiltable platform for dumping a playing piece located thereon into a water container. A water reservoir is supported on a tower located adjacent to the base. A water distributor is positioned between the water reservoir and the water containers. A number of intermediate water containers are located between the reservoir and the distributor. A conduit connects the reservoir, the intermediate water containers and the distributor. A valve controls the flow of water from the top reservoir to the conduit. A first marble track is arranged to discharge a marble into the water distributor. A second downwardly inclined track is also supported on the tower. The first marble is released when water fills one of the intermediate water containers.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1981Date of Patent: September 7, 1982Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventor: Gordon A. Patent number: 4346889Abstract: A board game including a number of generally similar rectangular tiles slidable relative to one another on a base to form a rectangular pattern with at least one vacant space equal in size to a tile. At least one groove is formed in the top surface of some of the tiles and more than one groove is formed in the top surfaces of others of the tiles with each groove extending from one side edge of a tile to another side edge of a tile. All grooves intersect the side edges of its tile at the midpoint of each side edge so that continuous paths can be formed on adjacent tiles if each adjacent tile has a groove extending to its side edges that is contiguous to an adjacent tile. Discontinuous paths are formed if one of the tiles does not have a groove extending to its side edge that is contiguous with an adjacent tile. A self-propelled vehicle is provided to move across the tiles. The vehicle has a guide which rides in the groove to direct the vehicle across the tile.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1981Date of Patent: August 31, 1982Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventors: Gordon A. Patent number: 4345764Abstract: A hand-held electronic game which uses a two-way mirror arrangement to simulate the battle between the player's rocket ship protected by barriers and a plethora of enemy rocket ships. The enemy rocket ships and the barriers are affixed on two parallel, spaced apart, vertical planes. Apertures in the front plane give the impression in the two-way mirror that the devices on the different planes are all in the same plane. In addition, the player's rocketship and death ray, on a horizontal plane, are also projected on the two-way mirror so that it appears that all the devices are in a single plane.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventors: Gordon A. Patent number: 4283049Abstract: A miniaturized bowling ball game comprising a simulated lane assembly having an automatic pin status indication, a scoring readout device and a noise generator operated responsive to a ball propelled over the lane assembly by an aimable shooter striking operating contacts simulating the ball striking and knocking down pins. The scoring read out device not only provides the score, but also the frame, and indicates if the prior frame resulted in a spare or strike. Electronically generated noises simulate the noises that occur when pins are knocked down in an actual bowling ball game. Also, the electronic controls randomly provides data which results in different scores, even though balls traverse the same routes.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1979Date of Patent: August 11, 1981Assignee: Gordon Barlow DesignInventors: Richard A. Patent number: 4148152Abstract: A construction toy including a base portion having a grid defined thereon by a plurality of substantially vertical grooves for use in combination with accessory articles. The grooves defined on the grid are arranged to intersect one another at right angles, each pair of which defines a track section over which a suitable vehicle may travel. A plurality of building wall panels are provided for use by positioning in the grooves of the grid to maintain the panels in a generally vertical position to permit combining of the panels to define structures such as houses, trees, or other structures. A plurality of track sections may be connected to the base to provide a path of travel to and away from the base. A connecting device is provided on the end of each track section for connection between adjacent track sections or to the base to secure the assembly as a unitary layout. Each track section is reversible and includes on one side a generally flat surface for traversing by vehicles such as cars and trucks.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1976Date of Patent: April 10, 1979Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Gordon A. Patent number: 4147355Abstract: A target shooting apparatus including an operator controlled simulated gun which projects a light beam of short duration toward a target each time the trigger is actuated. A simulated gun may be cocked between each "shot" which resets a recoiling, sounding mechanism to give a true life operational effect to the gun. The target includes a frame which rotatably mounts a pair of tables, each carrying a plurality of target devices. Additionally, a slidably mounted subframe assembly mounts at least one additional target for reciprocal, side-to-side motion. A target impeller mechanism is provided on the frame in proximity to each of the rotatable tables and the reciprocal subframe so that, when actuated, the impeller will cause rotational movement of the associated target indicating a "hit". The target impellers are actuated by a control mechanism as the proper alignment of the light beam from the gun with one of a plurality of phototransistors is sensed.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1977Date of Patent: April 3, 1979Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Gordon A.
