The second play mode has a different associated prize structure and a higher expected net value per play as compared to the first play mode. Once the player has played the specified number of plays at the second play mode the game switches back to the first play mode for additional plays.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method of operating a gaming apparatus. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving a plurality of wagers made. The method also includes determining whether a prize event has occurred based on an outcome of a game play associated with the plurality of wagers made. Further, the method includes outputting prizes when the prize event occurs. Each of the prizes complies with a prize constraint limit, and a total value of the prizes is greater than a maximum per wager limit value. In addition, a totality of the prizes has a prize structure that is representative of a modeled prize structure of an apparatus that exceeds the prize constraint limit on a per wager basis.

Abstract: A lottery-type game is played with a first level game and at least one second level or additional level game. The first level game includes a plurality of first level game records, each having an associated outcome. At least one outcome is a negotiable outcome. The second level game is related to the negotiable outcome of the first level game and includes a plurality of second level game records. According to the present gaming method, a player is enabled to view a first level game representation associated with a particular one of the first level game records. This first level game representation indicates the outcome associated with the particular first level game record. When this first level outcome is the negotiable outcome, the player may choose to view a second level game representation which indicates the outcome of a particular one of the second level game records.
