  • Patent number: 4434934
Abstract: A system for heating the operator's cabin of a machine powered by an internal combustion engine includes a primary oil conduit system wholly contained within the oil pan of the machine and having a high-pressure pump for feeding oil under heat and high pressure from the oil reservoir and back thereinto through a throttling element for heating the oil as it passes therethrough. A secondary oil conduit system operating under a pressure less than that of the primary system has an intermediate heat exchanger in heat exchange relationship with the oil heated by the first system, and has a heating heat exchanger located in the operator's cabin for supplying heat thereto. The secondary circuit contains liquid which is circulated by a circulating pump.

  • Patent number: 4420114
Abstract: A liquid heating system includes a high-pressure hydraulic pump for suctioning the liquid from the liquid reservoir and delivering it thereto through a liquid conduit into which the pump is coupled. A drive is provided for the pump, and a pressure-reducing element is coupled into the conduit downstream of the pump for reducing the pressure and elevating the temperature of the liquid. The element has a fixed flow passage, and a heat exchanger is coupled into the conduit downstream thereof. An arrangement for controlling the discharge rate of flow produced by the pump is provided as a function of the calorific heat required to be generated by the system and/or of the temperature of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 4407449
Abstract: A heating system for the service cabin of a machine operated by an internal combustion engine includes a high-pressure supply pump for feeding oil from the engine oil sump through an oil conduit and returning it thereto, a pressure-reducing element in the conduit for elevating the temperature of the oil, a line by-passing the element and having a flow control valve therein, a heat exchanger connected into the conduit downstream of the element, the pump being located within the internal combustion engine together with its high pressure line to thereby confine any high pressure leaks from such line to the interior of the engine and its oil sump.

  • Patent number: 4393824
Abstract: A heating system for heating the oil of a machine having a hydraulic or lubricating oil system includes a high-pressure supply pump and a throttling element for heating the medium while reducing the pressure, the pump supplying the lubricating points of the machine at the reduced pressure either via the pressure-reducing element or via a by-pass thereto with a low flow resistance. Heat removed from the heating medium by a heat exchanger may be transferred to the service cabin of the machine for space heating purposes.

  • Patent number: 4370956
Abstract: An arrangement for heating the oil contained within an oil reservoir of a machine or of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes a hydraulic pump for suctioning the oil from the reservoir and returning it thereto through an oil conduit into which the pump is coupled. At least one operating element in the form of a throttle is coupled into the conduit at the pressure side of the pump for constricting the flow of oil through the conduit, and the pump is coupled with a source of power to be thereby driven. Thus, the temperature of the oil within the reservoir may be elevated by operation of the pump together with the operating element for improving upon the startability of the machine or engine and for sustaining early operation after the start of the machine or engine.

  • Patent number: 4352455
Abstract: An arrangement for heating the service cabin of a machine driven by an internal combustion engine, includes a hydraulic pump which is driven by the engine and which pumps oil from the engine's oil reservoir and through an operating element, as for example a throttle, located between the hydraulic pump and the heat exchanger. The heat produced in the operating element and in the hydraulic pump effects an increase in temperature of the oil before reaching a heat exchanger, located in the service cabin, through which the heated oil is returned to the oil reservoir. The pumped oil may be selectively valved directly back into the oil reservoir for quickly heating the oil of the engine, and the hydraulic pump may be arranged for the taking of oil from the pressurized oil lines of the engine's lubricating oil distribution system rather than directly from the oil reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4346839
Abstract: An arrangement for heating the service cabin of a motor vehicle having a work implement thereon for use such as in agriculture or earth moving includes an oil distribution system having a hydraulic pump for feeding the oil from an oil reservoir associated with the vehicle and through oil conduits back to the reservoir. The oil is heated during operation of a hydraulic apparatus provided for operating the work implement which is coupled into the oil conduit for heating the service cabin area. An operating element in the form of a throttle is coupled in parallel into the oil conduits, and a return conduit leads from the throttle to the oil reservoir via the heat exchanger. A selectively operated valve in the conduits is provided for valving the oil from the reservoir to the hydraulic apparatus or to the operating element for selectively heating the oil fed through the heat exchanger.RELATED APPLICATIONSThis application relates to U.S. Ser. • Patent number: 4225176
Abstract: A motor vehicle, especially agricultural motor vehicle, which comprises a driver's cab with lateral parts formed by lateral walls of fenders which lateral walls are adapted to transmit overturning forces conveyed to an overturning protective device associated with the driver's cab, and/or to transmit overturning forces received by the driver's cab to the frame of the vehicle and/or to an axial carrier of a driving axle, while the side walls of the fenders are bridged by an upwardly directed transverse wall reinforcing these side walls and preceded by a seat for the driver. The transverse wall, at least within the region of the driver's seat, is designed as honeycomb-shaped structural member while at least one member of this honeycomb-shaped member serves for receiving and storing a working medium for a fluid operable system in the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4213519
Abstract: A disc brake, especially for motor vehicles, which preferably has two pressure discs which by means of antifriction or sliding bodies arranged in recesses provided with inclined or crowned surfaces rest against each other. When turning the pressure discs in counter-current direction with regard to each other, the anti-friction or sliding bodies move onto the surfaces of the recesses, spread apart the pressure discs against the thrust of return springs, and press the brake discs, which are axially displaceable on a shaft to be braked, against associated braking surfaces. The pressure discs are guided in a housing by means of at least three guiding elements distributed over the circumference of the housing. Each pressure disc has associated therewith an abutment for limiting the turning movement of the pressure discs. The guiding members, which respectively resist a tilting of the pressure discs about the pertaining abutments, are radially adjustable.
