  • Publication number: 20150327283
Abstract: There are provided measures for antenna selection for coordinated multipoint uplink reception. Such measures exemplarily include determining, for each antenna of a plurality of antennas, a quality of reception on a physical uplink control channel, and selecting, from said plurality of antennas, based on said determining, a set of a predetermined number of antennas to be used for reception on a physical uplink shared channel.

  • Publication number: 20140254715
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for robust precoding vector switching for multiple transmitter antennas are provided. One method includes defining, by a base station, a precoding vector switching (PVS) scheme for transmission of synchronization signals through multiple antennas comprising a plurality of pairs of cross-polarized antenna elements. The PVS scheme includes changing a direction pattern from co-polarized antenna elements for the first and for the second occurrence of the synchronization signals, and rotating a polarization from each of the pairs of cross-polarized antenna elements for the first and for the second occurrence of the synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 7054663
Abstract: A method forms polar diagrams in a connection between a subscriber and a base station with an antenna arrangement in a radio communications system using multiple access methods. Antenna signals are associated with polar diagrams of the antenna arrangement by a common beam forming network. The common beam forming network is used to form weighted sum signals, which are passed as input signals to a user-specific beam forming unit. A selector which is arranged there takes from the input signals a user-specific subset Kc of signals, to which an eigen polar diagram forming algorithm is applied.

  • Patent number: 6678856
Abstract: A terminated input string with symbols is split with timing control into at least two input sequences. The input sequences are each individually encoded with an outer code to form output sequences. The output sequences are combined symbol-by-symbol into an output string with symbols. The output string is then encoded with an inner code.

  • Patent number: 5905760
Abstract: In order to correct nonlinearities of an amplifier which receives a radio signal and produces an amplified radio signal representing an input complex digital signal, a predistortion table, associating a value of a predistorted complex digital signal with each value of the input complex digital signal, is stored, and the predistorted complex signal is modulated in order to obtain the radio signal addressed to the amplifier. In an adaptation period, a fraction of the amplified radio signal is demodulated in order to obtain a demodulated complex signal which is compared with the input complex signal, with which the predistorted complex signal modulated in said adaptation period is associated, in order to update the predistortion table. The input complex signal or the predistorted complex signal has a phase which is constant modulo .pi. in the adaptation period.

The predistortion table is updated on the basis of mean values calculated from blocks of samples of the input complex signal and of the demodulated complex signal, which are stored in the adaptation period.
