  • Publication number: 20020156419
Abstract: A disposable bag for attachment to a breastpump for containing breastmilk has a liquid containing portion with a releasably sealed opening, a tie for re-sealing the opening after use, a writing area formed integral with the bag which does not overlie the liquid containing portion, and an integral pour spout. The liquid containing portion of the bag can be hermetically sealed. The releasable seal provided defines the opening in the bag for attachment of the bag to the breastmilk pump. A tie is fit through two holes in the bag at substantially opposite sides of the opening of the bag so that the opening can be re-sealed when the bag is filled and removed from the breastmilk pump. The integrally formed writing area that is isolated from the liquid containing portion of the bag can be advantageously formed to further define the pour spout that is also integral with the bag. A notch is provided at the periphery of the bag at the pour spout to facilitate tearing of the bag to pour milk from the bag.

  • Patent number: 5575768
Abstract: A device is provided for supporting a breast shield of a breast pump upon a woman's breast in a "hands-free" manner. This breast shield support includes a garment that is adapted to a woman's torso, and a mounting element formed with or attachable to the back of the breast shield. Elastic bands tied to loops on the garment are releasably affixed to the mounting element to support the breast shield on the exposed breast. A list for retrofitting the device to a breast pump assembly is advantageously provided.

  • Patent number: 5514166
Abstract: A device and method are provided for supporting a breast shield of a breast pump upon a woman's breast in a "hands-free" manner. Such a breast shield support includes, for example, a base member, such as a garment, that is adapted to be carried on a woman's torso. Part of the breast pump, such as the breast shield, is releasably attached to the base member and supports the breast shield on the exposed breast. Embodiments include corresponding fasteners on the breast shield and a brassiere, a harness-type strap arrangement for holding the shield against the breast and a breast shield which slips through a flap formed in a brassiere cup and is supported by the cup material.

  • Patent number: 5474193
Abstract: A compact preferably disposable device is disclosed for providing a suckling infant with a liquid diet supplement simultaneously with normal breastfeeding. The device includes a container for holding the supplement and a fluid delivery mechanism adapted to fit onto the container. The fluid delivery mechanism comprises a flexible teat, an elongated flexible tube and a valve mechanism. The flexible tube extends into the teat and is in fluid communication with the interior of the teat, with the other end of the tube sized to fit into the infant's mouth simultaneously while breastfeeding. A tubing clamp carried by the tubing having a notch into which the tubing can be wedged to pinch it closed is also advantageously provided.
