  • Patent number: 10004240
Abstract: A fish stunning apparatus comprises a fish feed-in device, a fish receiving space, which is loadable with fish in the head first position, a fish positioning means, which engages on the fish head and, for the purpose of stunning the fish, defines a releasable temporary stop position of the fish, said apparatus also comprises a stunning means for acting on the fish head, a trigger device for determining the stop position and for activating the stunning means, and further comprises a control device for controlling operation. Locations on the fish head which come to rest in the fish receiving space, depending on the size of the head and/or body of the fish, should be positioned optimally for the purpose of stunning.

  • Patent number: 7575507
Abstract: A table for distributing fish which has a fish stunning apparatus is provided. The table includes a reservoir for holding a fish and water, an inlet for introducing fish into the reservoir and a stationary weir on a side of the reservoir. A water flow device adds water to the reservoir in order to allow fish to pass over the weir. The water flow device is oriented relative to the weir to introduce water in a direction away from the weir in order to generate a water current within the reservoir into which the fish will swim aligning themselves head first toward the weir. A slide is provided downstream of the weir to distribute fish after they pass over the weir and direct the fish into a stunning apparatus.
