Publication number: 20230355377Abstract: An intraocular lens has a monofocal lens body that defines a focal length and is configured to add more higher order aberration (HOA) to an eye than a spherical IOL with the same focal length. The lens body defines an optical center, an outer edge, a first region that extends from the optical center to a radius between the outer edge and the optical center, and a second region located radially outward of the first region. The second region is configured to reduce the longitudinal HOA that would otherwise occur in low light conditions. The lens body may be configured to create a higher order aberration to normalized radial distance ratio (HOA-NRD ratio) profile that increases in slope as NRD increases within at least a portion of the first region and does not increase in slope as NRD increases within at least a portion of the second region. The HOA may be a spherical aberration, trefoil or coma.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2023Publication date: November 9, 2023Inventors: Graham Barrett, Tjundewo Lawu

Patent number: 11744698Abstract: A method improves depth of focus in a first eye only by adding a higher order aberration (HOA) to the first eye by adding a monofocal optical device to the first eye. The method may also correct a spherical aberration in a second eye by inserting a monofocal aspheric IOL. The HOA added to the first eye may be selected from the group consisting of spherical, trefoil and coma. Additionally, the monofocal optical device inserted into the first eye may comprise a monofocal aspheric IOL that adds spherical aberration to the first eye. The optical device inserted into the first eye may comprise a 20 D monofocal aspheric IOL that adds 0.4 ?m of spherical aberration to the first eye at 6 mm entrance pupil and adds 0.1 ?m of spherical aberration to the first eye at 4 mm entrance pupil.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2020Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: Rayner Intraocular Lenses LimitedInventors: Graham Barrett, Tjundewo Lawu

Patent number: 9567173Abstract: A sheet feeder comprises a feed deck for supporting a stack of sheets (65) to be fed. The feed deck may be formed by a bed of freely spinning rollers. A feed block (62) comprises a friction pad (66) that projects from the bottom of the feed block (62) towards a drive belt (42) to define a gate therebetween. The drive belt (42) frictionally engages the underside of a bottom sheet of the stack (65) and urges the sheet towards the gate. The feed block (62) comprises a front face (72) immediately upstream from the gate, which is inclined at a sharp angle to the feed direction. The friction pad (66) comprises a lower face that is substantially parallel to the feed direction and does not intersect the plane of the feed block front face (72).Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2011Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: CreaseStream LLPInventors: Graham Michael Harris, Paul Graham Barrett
