This device further includes a processor and a memory device storing instructions executable by the processor to cause the device to perform data processing activities that may include receiving an identifier via the at least one radio transceiver, outputting a work in progress indicator from the visual signaling output, and transmitting the received identifier via the network interface device to a network service. These data processing activities further include receiving a payment success indicator via the network interface device indicating whether a payment was successfully processed with regard to the received identifier. The data processing activities may then output an indication of the received payment success indicator from the visual signaling output.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques for self service transaction processing for gaming chips using radiofrequency (RFID) verification and authentication. A self service terminal receives inputs and selections from a patron purchasing gaming chips and dispenses chips conforming to the patron's purchase request. As chips are being dispensed, RFID information is read from each chip and compared against centrally stored information for the chip to confirm the validity, identity, and value of the chip. The terminal also receives deposits of chips for redemption and reads RFID information from each chip submitted for redemption, comparing the information read from the chip against centrally stored information before accepting the chip for redemption.
