  • Publication number: 20240068005
Abstract: The present invention provides engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes having improved properties as compared to a naturally occurring wild-type ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, as well as polynucleotides encoding the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, host cells capable of expressing the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes, and methods of using the engineered ketoreductase and phosphite dehydrogenase enzymes to synthesize a chiral catalyst used in the synthesis of antiviral compounds, such as nucleoside inhibitors. The present invention further provides methods of using the engineered enzymes to deracemize a chiral alcohol in a one-pot, multi-enzyme system.

  • Patent number: 10819458
Abstract: This present invention creates a method of amplitude processing of audio signals, primarily but not exclusively for musical and sound designing purposes. This invention detects the amplitude variations and constancies of a controlling input signal or signals and generates corresponding variations and constancies in another input signal or signals to a specific degree and in a specific manner or combination of manners of operation, at the control of various parameters, rendering a unique and innovative audio effect without changing any frequency content of any signals in the function of the amplitude regulation. This method of amplitude control shall be called amplitude regulation, or amplitude inducing; thus, the invention is titled Indux Dynamics Inducer.

  • Publication number: 20190363812
Abstract: This invention creates an entirely new category of the dynamics processing of audio signals or recordings, primarily but not exclusively for musical and sound designing purposes. This invention applies the gain variation (dynamics, or amplitude ups and downs) of a source signal to another signal to whatever degree desired, thereby “inducing” its dynamic content into that signal (at various envelope, frequency, and percentage parameters if desired), rendering a unique and innovative audio effect. This radical new method of amplitude (or gain) control shall be called “induction,” thus the invention is titled Indux Dynamics Inducer.

  • Patent number: 8074674
Abstract: A block for chemically dosing a stream of fluid flowing past the block, the block comprising at least one surface for the fluid to flow past to dissolve and/or erode the block, wherein the block is shaped to enable the at least one surface to be dissolved and/or eroded without a substantial change in the area of the at least one surface.

  • Patent number: 7049092
Abstract: In various aspects, the invention provides pharmacologic and genomic methods of inhibiting fertility in a male animal, such as human male contraception, involving the manipulation of the activity of hormone-sensitive lipase, including inhibiting the activity of a hormone-sensitive lipase in the animal. In another aspect, the invention discloses the use of hormone-sensitive lipase as a target in screening assays that may be used to identify compounds that modulate male fertility. In another aspect, the present invention identifies a condition of male infertility caused by hormone-sensitive lipase deficiency.

  • Patent number: 6773526
Abstract: A combined waterproofing sheet and protection course membrane has a water resistant film and a protective layer. The protective layer protects the film from being punctured and otherwise compromised. An adhesive layer, with a free adhesive side for adhesion to a foundation, is adhered to the film, so that the membrane can be applied to a subterranean foundation in a single step. While the foundation is being back filled, the protective layer keeps the water resistant film intact thereby maintaining the water resistant capabilities of the membrane.
