  • Publication number: 20200190391
Abstract: This invention relates to using a unique blend of components of a composite cement and subjecting them to a rotary mill process using variably sized and shaped media to reduce the blends' particle size. The invention is novel in that it mills the blended materials together to achieve reduced particle size, increased particle surface area, higher compressive strength and lower permeability. In one embodiment, the invention combines fly ash or other pozzolan material with a cement of any type at varying rations between 1% and 99%. In a further embodiment the invention combines fly ash or other pozzolan material at 60% with a cement of any type at 40%.

  • Publication number: 20050269398
Abstract: The present invention includes a system and method for authorizing billing files at a substantially real-time batch authorization rate. The invention comprises a poller configured for queuing billing transaction files in real-time. In one embodiment, the invention uses advanced logic to split transactions into multiple subsets and it uses a plurality of different sized data streams to facilitate processing transactions. A card authorization system is used to process the transaction subsets. The card authorization may have one or more sockets to facilitate processing different-sized data streams. In another embodiment, the invention uses a merger to reconstruct the subsets into a billing transaction file.

  • Patent number: 6955220
Abstract: The present invention provides improved well cementing methods for use in cold environment, where the circulating temperature of the cement is typically within the range of 5 to 20° C. The improved well cementing methods include forming compositions that are essentially comprised of an aqueous fluid, a hydraulic cement binder and a set-accelerating admixture comprising an alkali or alkaline earth metal nitrate and an alkali or alkaline earth metal nitrite.

Inventors: Jack Maberry, Greg Garrison, Stephan Harris, Andre Garnier
  • Patent number: 6818598
Abstract: A plugging fluid for plugging a subterranean formation zone surrounding a drill hole comprises an emulsion comprising a dispersed aqueous phase containing an aqueous base and a continuous hydrophobic phase containing a polymer consisting of a grafted cellulose ether derivative, a surfactant and a crosslinking activator of the polymer. The polymer is preferably 2-hydroxyethyl cellulose grafted with vinyl phosphonic acid. Upon shearing, preferably through the drilling bit, the emulsion inverts so that the rupture of the emulsion droplets releases the crosslinking activator into the water phase thus forming a gel structure.
