  • Publication number: 20080098765
Abstract: A slush drink maker for household use is described. It includes a base housing a motor, a mixing chamber removably mounted on the base, an ice canister and auger assembly disposed substantially horizontally inside the mixing chamber, and a cover for covering the mixing chamber. The ice canister and auger assembly include a cylindrical ice canister, an auger disposed around the ice canister, and a gearbox which drives the auger to rotate in a first direction and drive the ice canister to rotate in a second direction opposite the first direction. The ice canister has a divider that divides an interior space of the ice canister into two or more compartments parallel to a rotation axis of the ice canister. In addition, the auger and the front end of the mixing chamber have improved shapes which facilitate the dispensing of the content from the mixing chamber.

  • Publication number: 20080061174
Abstract: A blender includes a base for housing a motor, an insulated, removable mixing container mounted on the base with a dispenser for dispensing content from the container, a lid, and a grinding and shaving assembly disposed inside the mixing container near its bottom. The grinding and shaving assembly includes a grinding and shaving blade assembly attached to a rotating shaft and a screen disposed around the grinding and shaving blade assembly. The screen is spaced from an inner sidewall of the mixing container to form a space between the screen and the inner sidewall. An opening is defined near a bottom of the mixing container to form a fluid passage between the space and the dispenser. A safety switch is provided so that the blender will not run unless the lid is closed. Either an AC or a DC motor may be used, with a build-in DC-AC or AC-DA converter.
