Abstract: A locking system for drawers may include a lock with a lock driver that is configured for engaging a drive actuator. The drive actuator may have a lock bar slider in communication with a lock bar. A slave actuator may also be provided in communication with the drive actuator through a shaft. The drive actuator and slave actuator may be respectively positioned so as to lock opposite ends of a drawer. The locking system may also provide the lock with a lock driver that is prevented from being moved into a locked position when the drawer is opened. One of several different resulting arrangements prevents unintentional or inadvertent locking until the drawer is placed into engagement with a drive actuator.

Abstract: A drawer system is provided having a frame, first and second drawers that are each slidable guidingly on the frame between open and closed positions, and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a first blocking element mounted for movement relative to the frame between a blocking position and a neutral position and a second blocking element mounted for movement relative to the frame between a blocking position and a neutral position. A first actuating surface is provided on the first drawer, with a second actuating surface being provided on the second drawer. The first blocking element in its blocking position prevents the second blocking element from moving from its neutral position into its blocking position. The second blocking element in its blocking position prevents the first blocking element from moving from its neutral position into its blocking position.

Abstract: A lock having a body with a central axis, an actuator, first structure cooperating between the body and actuator for mounting the actuator for movement relative to the body between first and second positions, a mounting plate defining a surface facing axially of the body to confront a wall on which the lock is mounted, second structure cooperating between the mounting plate and at least one of the body and actuator for a) maintaining the mounting plate in operative relationship with the body and b) allowing the mounting plate to be moved selectively axially relative to the body, and third structure cooperating between the mounting plate and at least one of the body and actuator for fixing the mounting plate in a plurality of different operative positions relative to the body.
