  • Publication number: 20110310603
Abstract: A low-profile light fixture includes at least one lighting module comprising a frame having a top portion, one or more wall portions, a mounting portion, at least one LED mounted to the mounting portion, and a shield positioned below the mounting portion for shielding the light emitting portion of each LED from direct view. The frame optionally includes one or more dividers for dividing light from the LEDs into discrete sections of the frame. The frame and shield include a reflective material for reflecting light from the LEDs into the space to be illuminated. The light fixture can be configured so that it can be retrofitted into existing lighting fixtures.

  • Publication number: 20110199765
Abstract: An LED-based lamp includes a linearly elongated body having a reflective interior surface defined by a top portion and side portions. An array of LEDs is mounted to at least one of the side portions and positioned such that its emitted light is directed into the linearly elongated body, where it is diffused and emitted from the lamp uniformly. In other embodiments, arrays of LEDs are mounted to both of the side portions. The interior of the body is an open cavity. A transparent cover is optionally attached to the body.

  • Publication number: 20090002990
Abstract: Embodiments of lighting assemblies disclosed herein are particularly designed for installation in display units to more effectively distribute light towards, and thereby better illuminate, the products housed in the display unit. The lighting assemblies include at least one, but preferably a plurality of, light emitting diodes mounted on a frame. The frame is preferably formed so as to have a number of mounting arms on which to mount the LEDs. In this way, the LEDs can be positioned on the arms and their emitted light can be directed to focus on different aspects of the display unit (i.e., the products housed in the unit, banners or advertisements on the unit, etc.). The lighting assemblies may include, but do not have to include, various optical features to enhance the distribution of light emitted from the LEDs, including, but not limited to, lenses, reflectors, etc.
